man thats some purdy paint.... to bad its gonn get blown off soon. And on a side not "IF" it has twins on it it has now moved to the side of the fence that the v8 swaps are on and no longer a syclone. LOL

Thank you, the parts in bold is really what I was looking for. I see what you have on the truck but the tips and teaks is what I was looking for. Like what spring rate did you start with? What did you end up with? Why did you believe that change was needed? That is the type of information I meant as that is the type of information that helps me and others learn ya know?

Lastly, you commented on the track prep, or lack there of. When i did notice the wiggle it appeared to be maybe 100' out no? You have no run into the problem of the suspension unloading at all when it wants to get loose?


What we had in spring rate is of no use for U, because U have to go from U´r truck and its weight, stance, height, tire height, HP lvl, preload on bars and so on.

So U have to do the messuring and math Ur self, plot out the center of gravity (CG) and then find neutral line (100%anti squat) then find Ur Instant center (IC) THEN u can start tweekin the points, weight the car and do the talk and rekomendation from spring manufactors.

Then do the test and competition, closely watching Ur trucks behavior, THEN deside if U have to do changes?, then figure out WHAT to change and WHY..

Recomend U to start on Swedish STRONG coffe the cafein is a rocket to sience clouds :D

Look at it this way, Doc Hoover, Ed Hess and Robert´s engine is puting out similar Hp The aproach to get these nrs is however a lithle different, despite that they almost goes same ET, and
MAYBE Doc and Ed could compare chassie settings because there trucks behave similar, But Neither of them would benefit from puting on the settings used on Roberts truck because of differents in stans, converter, weight (not only total weight, also invidual corner wt and front/rear is needed) Tq curve, tire dimensions CG, IC etc

I recomend U to buy the book "Door slammers, the chassibook".. by Dave Morgan, and IF he ever does a seminar again, ATTEND ON IT, U learn alot and can make Ur own teekin on Ur car by Urself

Why we did a change in -07 on spring rate and chocks?? because the curent spring rate could´nt withstand the power output so the chocks and springs bent to banana form..

From the first 8 sec run there have been a substancial develop on the truck in engine and some other parts MAINLY change of heads from 23`to 18´heads and a uppgrade in turbo etc BUT the power output aint that big as U think, the engine put down serius power as it was, we think the upgrades got us about 100- 150 Hp, if ever so much?

The tire is not unloading (suspension is doing its work, the tire is loosing grip) because of bad trackprepp only, we even figured out that the tires are to old and lost the ability to hook as whell as expected, and yes the fenomen occurs about 100 feet out when we stepp up on boost on 2 gear, and thats why we think were gona go 8,5, because we havent got it up to full boost yet :D

Hope U understand WHY I dont give out info about things only aplyably on Roberts truck? It would probably screw up Ur mind and may get U out the wrong way..

No no man, you answered alot. I wasn't asking to apply it directly to my truck but trying to learn how you go about making these decisions.

damn anders, that was an impressive write up i must say!

i agree on the fwd and rear wheel drive thing. but robert did play with boost setting while taking off i geuss. and if you see the other fast guys just humping the first 60 feet. they loose alot of power. don't you think it's better to have less power on the line and keep it on the track (if you left the spring rate and such out of it) and start tuning you suspension there while going up in power from the line?
good luck hitting the 8.5's i take everything i wrote earlier back. you guys are really sharing some worthwhile info here!

Go ahead and ask questions, but be prepared for a response when you say crap like the above. You'd get respect if you said something like "when I was running 9s, i had a hell of a time getting my truck to go straight, what was I missing?' You however troll and make statements like the above that question the intelligence of those who are actually out there, physically on the track, running their truck. Thats pretty bad form.

The coffee I am addicted to has a shot of espresso in it. They call it a turbo, does that count? :)

Hm I cant tell, try to have more than 1 shot in it get a double turbo effect :D and be prepared to "Shake those hands" :D besides U need a friend to use as a ballfense to throw ideas and facts and fantasy in an endles stream, It aint done in 15 minutes.. but its a sure way to get results..

At SyTy nats -06 a guy ( Dabney :D ) came at us and served us with starbucks coffe, I belived he let them make a special strong coffe, and WE were happy about it because it was just a 1/10 of the cafein were used to here in sweden BUT that was good enough to make us "live" :D AND I made a Friend Dabney I wich we lived closer :D also Jeff, Jeremy, Dobrik and "Heavy breather" Wich I lived closer to U to..

Swedish coffe is amongs the strongest coffe made, some expresso and arabic coffe could be even nastier but about the cafein content I dont know, people here traveling outside of scandinavia always get headake the first couple of days, because of the adiction on our coffe.. (Whell Ive solved some of the problem by even drinkin The )

Changed my tune? My thoughts are the same now as they were before. He has changed the motor combo and will be trying to go from 9.0-8.5. Will it go straight the very first time? Who knows, it will be one interesting ride, which is exactly what my original post implied. If it doesn't go straight the first time does that mean it will never? Hardly.

I would love to ask you what you feel you have contributed to this but instead, I choose to go this route.

WOW.. easy guys..Board is supposed to be to help one another, not argue with one another. I would love to know what upgrades to the stock supp. but he is not will give it up. IM not sure why ather, but O well. Have A good day to all.

Upgrades to stock suspension? It is not stock suspension. I would have to see pics to see where the coilovers are mounted, but he did say the ladder bars were mounts to the leaf location. It sounds like a nice setup. I toyed with the ladder bar or 4link idea myself but non of the classes i want to race would all that, they are all stock suspension.

So if anyone, or Robert or Anders can post a pic of the rear suspension I would love to see it. Thanks
