I did a search and couldnt find a answer to the question i have.

Would you be able to put a 600cc Motorcycle in the bed of a Sy?
Ive read that they sy's are only supposed to have 500lbs towing capacity's? and a 600cc sport bike usually weights just around there. Any one have any experience doing this?

here are the dimensions of the motorcycle i would be hauling.

Dimensions:
Length
2010mm (79.1in)
Width (Handlebars)
710mm (28in)
Height
1109mm (43.7in)
Wheelbase
1392mm (54.8in)
Weight (Dry)
363 lbs

If it's in the bed your not towing it.

I wouldn't be scared to do it, but I wouldn't try a boost launch...

right, but i didn't know if the tow capacity was due to just putting more stress on the suspension. How long is the bed with the tail gate down?

Re: Motorcycle In the Bed of a Sy

your bed is just a shade over 72" gate up, so probably about 90" gate down. The trailering concerns are intercooler and transmission based for the most part. Be gentle on it, no boosted shifts and it will be fine.

when it breaks down you will at least have something to get home on!

Maybe all Sys should have come with a bike from the factory :D

Yamaha V-Max. 1200 cc, 620 lbs. Barely made it fit with the tailgate up by throwing it in diagonally. It made the rear suspension ride on the bump stops (w/ 2 inch blocks). And it made it hard for me to close my door. Good thing I only had to drive about 2 miles.

I haul more weight than that in tools often in my truck. As mentioned, boosted launches are a no no. You just have to be careful if the rear wheel is close to your cladding. My truck is lowered 2 inches in the back and I had my rear wheel scuff the top of my cladding once when it bottomed out on a rough road.
