motor/trans value question

Wikid 1

200+ lbs of puppy!
what would a 55k mile long block/trans be worth? I'd be keeping the intake/exhaust manifolds, sensors and oil pan etc off of the motor to install on the new one, but the trans would be complete from converter to output shaft. the motor runs exceptionally well, really the only miles this thing ever had was driving from florida to Pittsburgh PA. origonal owner was a collector, sold it in 96 with ~2600 miles to the guy i bought it off of who drove it to pittsburgh several times a year from florida (no snow) then when he moved back to PA, he parked it untill I bought it with 48k miles on it.
I'd like to sell it to re-coop some of the costs of building my new motor/trans and was wondering what it was worth.

TIA

Re: motor/trans value question

well the range has gone all over the place, the best response i can give you is that its only worth what somebody is willing to give you for it.

Id just put an add up in the for sale section and take offers, there are alot of guys always looking for motor and or trans, might be better if your willing to sell separate.

good luck

Re: motor/trans value question

PM me, we are looking for a motor. I would guess that 2500-3K might be a good estimate for value. Newly rebuilt motors are about 5-6K:2cents:
