Is there a difference between the sy/ty motor mounts and the regular jimmy/sonoma mounts? The reason I ask is because I broke a motor mount about half a year ago and had it replaced by a shop here in town. Well, I'm now going on my third mount and I'm thinking that they might be giving me regular mounts (if there is a difference) and they can't take the power our engines are putting out.

That's strange because the mount the truck had when I bought it lasted about 70 launches from me alone. I have no clue how many from the previous owner. The newer mounts I've been going through have broken with as little as two or three launches on them. It can't be newfound power becuase I havn't done anything to the truck since I bought it.
Anyways, with that being said, what do you think would be the best thing for me to do? It's going in the shop either later today or tomorrow, so if you think I should use a different mount, I can have them do that. The only thing I don't like about the tie down is that I'm trying to keep my truck as close to stock as possible. If I can't keep it stock, I at least want it to look stock.
I appreciate your suggestions.

I have lots of info on my website www.jsmanufacturing.com on the mounts I have designed and made.
IMO this is the best solution. The stock mount design sucks. Basically motor is trying to pull the mount apart, which is easy to do since rubber and steel don't bond well, if at all.
New mounts solve that with the Energy Suspension mounts. My plates let you use a standard chevy v8 mount, vs the stock ty mounts which have no GOOD replacement.
I don't have any currently in stock, but I can round up a set if you need them ASAP, and send to you.

Right now I'm trying to get ahold of the shop to see whether they would cover any of the costs if I were to do this. Right now, they are paying to have the driver-side mount replaced under warantee, but I don't think they'd pay for your mounts. That's not really what I'm worried about because I don't mind paying for the mounts, but I have no clue how much they'd charge me to replace the passenger-side mount also. I wouldn't mind doing this if they would cover labor, but I don't think they'll cover it all. So, I'll get back to you hopefully within the next hour or so.
Well, I've decided to got with another stock mount. If I were to go with your mounts, the shop wouldn't cover any of the cost. If I were going to keep the truck, I'd definately order some of you mounts, but since I'm not, it's makes more sense to get another stock mount at no cost to me. I'll just have to drive like a granny from now on. Thanks anyways.

any body try to put solid mounts on the sy or ty. my brother has they on his small block 72' nova. people say you get a nasty vibration out of them but i dont see that in the nova.
