won't need to chain it down if you go polyurethane... Grab a set of Jeff Scott's engine mounts for use with ES bushings..
And grab the new ES tranny mount bushing while you're at it...

hey jeff, thanks for the shameless plug, i found the install page rather educating. now my only question is, are the engine mounts visible without pulling parts off? and how do i know if theyre broken?

when my truck is idling, i give it gas, and right around 1500-2000rpms the engine starts shaking bad. im gonna check my ignition first, could just be a bad plug wire etc. but if it is bad motor mounts, would i be able to use tie down straps as a temporary band aid, till i get time or money to fix them?

without pulling parts, getting to them is difficult, not impossible but difficult.

I would guess, at minimum you would need to remove inner fenders, dowpipe, exhaust manifolds, wheels...maybe more.

Yes, tie straps work fine, as a bandaid, and as semi permenant fix, should that be what you want to use.

I took some video footage of my engine bay when I had a broken mount... It's pretty cool looking... Motor moves a good 6-8 inches and bashes against the passenger side fender. I'll have to DL it to my computer and post it.

ok well my engine doesnt move, it stays in place just shakes like a mofo... but the shaking goes away at higher rpms... im guessing an ignition problem, or possibly out of balance???
what about tranny mounts? where are they? i need to climb under my sy, and see if i still have a tranny pan left, since i scrape on just about every fucking bump on the road! i really need to crank the torsion bars up a few turns.
