Most enjoyable experience so far driving the ty

I have, for the last 4 years, only put about 380 miles on my truck. Never could take it past 80 without it shaking, bucking, stalling, basically - without feeling like it was either going to die or fall apart (or me being scared of it).
3 years ago, I took the entire truck apart to get painted, and to sort some mistakes from the previous owner.
When I put it back together in APril, it looked great, but that was about it. It ran, but like pooh. I recently thought the front suspension/cv/bearings were bad. I knew the tires were bad, and I wanted to go back to stock. So, last night, I got new tires on the stock rims. Took off the Zr1's. Put the stockers on with new tires (got the road force balanced - highly recommend), and sat back to look at it. Boy, the wheels look small after having the ZR1's. (especially now that it is stock height)
Took it out this morning. First thing is that it didn't make any weird noises (great!), road great (actually didn't make me bounce all over the place), got it out on the highway to do some speed runs. All I can say that It ran great at all speeds! Kind of surprised me that no vibrations were felt, and was very stable.
Today, I actually enjoyed the truck. The first day in 4 years!

Awesome news! Hopefully I will be able to have an enjoyable ride in mine someday. haha. For now I will just look at it in disgust and slowly improve it.

That's the kind of post I love to see. Nice to see your continued efforts with that truck come to fruition!

is it bad when I repeat that phrase to myself over and over again?

Depends on how you use it. You have to use it as a incentive to get it running again when its not. Don't use it as a reason to sell it lol.

Congrats. I had a similar ride yesterday after finally curing the squeaky rear glass!
