MORE IC PROBLEMS ... need help

i hot-wired the pump, i can hear it running when i turn the key, i still see no movement in the IC - there are no kinks as there are only 2 rubber hoses that run the entire length .... could it be air? or i have an atwood 500 marine pump from walmart that has a lock and unlock position, does anyone know if it would still run in the locked position? or would the coolant just back up? - the longer the pump runs, the more coolant i have to add, now it seems to have leveled off and there is still no movement

if anyone in the new jersey area can get to atco tomorrow night (15th) and can help, let me know and i will bring the typhoon too, i plan on racing the grand national since i have gotten more mods done

stop the shop tommorrow and i will help you out, I just redid my ic lines thru the fender and changed the pump. Also did the yellow ire thing on the ic firewall relay. Also added some switches in a nice dash console that turn on relays for the ic pump and electric fan when you want to cool things off while sitting in the lanes without the engine running.
Oh yeah the shop is Auto DOGZ INC

Head towards philly on the white horse pike, when you reach 295, look down at your odometer, exactly 2 miles on the left, blue and gold sign says Auto dogz with a silly ugly lookin dog on it.

Don, are you sure your upper ic isn't all clogged up? If there's no movement of the coolant and it's disappearing then there air bubbles in it. The disappearing coolant is caused by the air bubbles popping. What's this about a lock on the atwood pump? Have you checked things out with the lock in both on and off positions?

I have his truck on the lift right now as I'm typing this. Ye hose on the drivers side at the ic radiator is kinked. Who ever mounted the pump tied it to the fan shroud instead of the mount on the ic radiator. needs work!
I handed him the tools ... makin em work! lol :)

The pumps are not self priming. Make sure you have liquid in the pump and an unobstructed supply when you fire it up. These pumps don't work well unless primed. An air pocket can kick your ass. (The pump will sound like it is full of marbles - its cavitating.)

mad mike,
how many gallons per hour is that one and do you think it would be better then the 500 gallon per hour atwood I had?

Thanks
Don

A higher rate of flow does not necessarily deliver lower MATs. The coolant must spend enough time in a properly sized heat exchanger to dissapate the heat picked up in the IC.
