Monomax Question

New shocks are in so I’m startn’ work. I notice that the old shocks are mounted shaft up in front and shaft down in the rear. The rears are Delco, can’t tell what the fronts are. There’s nothing on the Motomax box to indicate otherwise so I’m just double-checking. Do Motomax’s go in with shaft up? Front and rear?

Thanx,

Don

My Edelbrock IAS's had to go in shaft down. I'm not sure about yours, but mine had to all go in shaft down, not how the stockers were...

I've heard this before. I'm fairly sure the Motomax's go shaft up. I'm still removing so can wait if I have to.

They’re on and I'm glad I changed them. The Monomax's work very well. Thanx to all for the recommendations. ::thumbsup::

As it turns out, in the rear you have no choice (shaft up) because of the way the brackets are designed. Sooo I did the same in the front.

Just did mine this weekend, all shaft up. And all I can say is WOW!!! What a differance, why didn't I do this before. Unbelieveable how a set of shocks and the loss of the air leveler junk can make it that much better!!! So glad I finally did it.

The best price that I found was at The Tire Rack http://www.tirerack.com their part number 565048 Front & 565047 Rear. Don’t know if that’s their number or Monomax’s number. Someone else may have a lead on a better price.

Boxes are already gone so I can't check

Couldn’t tell ya really. After searching here and pokin' around on the 'net I decided on the Monomax's. I'm happy with my choice. Never did find a web page on performance shock comparison but I wouldn't want to bet against it being out there.

Don't know if "love" is the right word... But I can say I'm very satisfied. The ride didn't change much, but what the heck it -is- a truck. However I now have control where I didn't have much before. Old shocks were very bad.

Thanks again for the recomendation. Now if I could put some on the wife's Avalon can I do 0 - 60 in 4?

my old shocks were so bad that when we took them off, we were able to compress them completely with one hand, and they barely returned.
