Modified big brake spindles

Hey guys,

-I had an extra set of stock spindles laying around so I had them modified them to work with C5/C6 (including C6 Z06) bracket kits. They will work for the LS1 kits too if you cut off the steering stops on the spindles. I bead blasted, primed, and coated with ceramic Eastwood gloss black coating. They were machined in a top notch quality aerospace machine shop by a prototype machinist, just to emphasize the quality. They are ready to go. $250 shipped.

I might be interested in the lower if you have a buyer for the top. Are you sure they will fit the vortec heads? You can't tell if they are rework enough.

They were gasket matched to the 1203 and I was informed that Vortec's use that gasket also. They fit perfectly on my bigger port -8 Brodix which also uses the 1203 gasket. I was told by a reputable builder who works heavily with both heads that this intake will work on either type of heads. There has been material added at the bottom of the ports and machined/gasket matched to get the correct opening for these bigger port heads. Check this page (http://www.sytyperformance.com/inde...facturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26) for a before and after picture and you can see that my intake has been indeed modified. You can see that the injector ports on the unmodified intake are almost at the edge of the port while the modified one and mine have a good amount of material between the injector port and edge.

I might be interested....

Besides being gasket-matched, has the underside of the lower intake been welded at the water passages? I'm told this is a necessary mod.

No it hasn't, from what I can see. I don't think all vendors do it. Why is this supposedly necessary? Do you have a link to any info about it?

Sorry, I don't have a link. I believe both JSM and RPM manifolds are modified this way. I will try to dig up a pic. Perhaps someone with more info will chime in.

I need to modify my stock spindles for C5 brakes, but could buy these spindles and not have to cut/grind etc?

Exactly, they are ready to go :tup: Saves you all the work and time. You will not be disappointed in how nice these look in person. The quality of work in these are perfect. My Dad doesn't mess around when it comes to perfection

I am told that the C5 modified spindle will work with the c6 Z06 brakes as you use the same offset brackets that the c5 uses (the AceHaag and CBR ones).
