modded astro steering shaft

I made up some more astro shafts... Direct bolt on no reclocking needed! These are closer in lengthy top the stock steering shafts but have some distinct advantages. They have u joints instead of the trash rag joint. I removed the end of these and reclocked it so that they are a direct bolt in and all of them are in great shape!

What sort of mods do you have to do so that you don't have to reclock the steering wheel?

Re: modded astro steering shaft

There are no mods needed. I remove and reclocked the end and welded the end back on so these are a direct bolt in! Just like the jeep shaft!

I did find one with a rubber isolator but I want to test fit it first!

i'll vouch for quality and ease of install for these, just got mine installed last weekend and love it, really tightened up steering with removal of rag joint. Took me about 25 mins start to finish to swap including jacking up, removing tire/fender and all back together.

Any word about testing the one you had with the rubber isolator? I'm interested in one of those. My Ty is already loud enough without transferring any more road noise though the steering column.

Is the isolator just a piece of rubber, encased in steel, that surrounds the shaft, or does it actually separate the shaft into two pieces?

It separates the shaft into 2 pieces. I already sold the one with the rubber isolator but I am always looking for more. I will let you knowwhen I find another!
