Modded 92 Eclipse GSX goes down!

Well, I filled the Sy with 5 gallons of Xylene and 91 and went out tonight looking for some action. After over two hours of cruising, I was ready to head home but I decided to drive around a little more. As luck would have it, this guy in a 92 Eclipse GSX comes up real fast next to me and starts setting of his BOV. I knew he wanted to run so I waited a bit and then nailed it from about 35 mph and he did the same - we were pretty close up to about 65 so I slowed down, rolled down my window and asked him if he wanted to run and he says "hell yeah!". So we drove a ways until we found a long straight road with no cars. It was a perfect scenario and the air was cold and dense tonight. I look over at him and he gives me the OK; we both rev our engines hard knowing it's going to be a good one. Boom, he gets the jump on me and he's a good car ahead of me through the intersection. I put the pedal to the floor and my Autometer boost gauge was pegged at 15 psi. By the time he shifted into 2nd, we were dead even but that's when I started walking away. He stayed about a carlength behind until we got up to 85 mph or so and then I just obliterated him. At ~100 mph I shut it down and we decided to pull over and compare toys. The guy was really cool and he was definitely impressed with the Clone. I told him I was actually going to buy a turbo 1st gen GSX until I came across my Syclone. He had a custom intercooler, cold-air, 3" full exhaust, BOV, Apexi boost controller, ACT 2600 clutch, Volk rims, and a bunch of other stuff. He said his car ran a 13.1 but his shit wasn't running right (excuses!). That car was real fast but my truck was running so strong tonight there was no way he was gonna touch me. All in all, a good race and my first against a 1st gen DSM. Oh ya, he said he was running stock boost level as was I so it was a good match. Another thing I just realized is that I forgot to lock up my TC before the race so that was at least another tenth I gave up. Anyway, all that driving around paid off...sweet!

Excellent kill story, especially walking him at the top end! I always hear that those DSMs can be pretty quick, so apparently it's true.

Just out of curiosity, why are you running the Xylene mix and still 15psi? I'm getting ready to drop some Xylene in mine, but with the intent of bumping up to maybe 17psi on the ultimate. I see your regular fuel is 91 octane where mine is 93, so maybe that's it?

Listed below is what I've done and what I plan to do. As you can see, I don't yet have an ultimate chip or even a 3-bar MAP so 15 psi is all I get. I want to get rid of the KR completely before installing the ultimate. SMC alky injection will go in before the ultimate as well. I don't want to waste my 51K mile engine by being stupid. I'm hoping for high 11s by the time I'm done and I think I've laid out a pretty good roadmap to get there.
