Mod or keep original?

I've been debating this lately. I really like the idea of having an all original low mile Sy but the desire to start modding has been on my mind. Nothing extreme where I would be worrying about stuff breaking. Anyone have a low mile Sy that has been modded reliably without going overboard and was it worth it? Thanks

Go out and buy another typhoon or syclone.... Leave yours the way it is.... That's what I would do... Imo

I without going overboard

It always starts like this and then the fever takes over.

Tell ya what...I'll trade you trucks and you can mod the $#%^ out of mine (you can start by rebuilding the internals with that forged stuff people talk about)...and I will let 463 be the BONE STOCK garage queen it deserves to be. ;)

Almost did but seller wouldn't budge on price at all.

Lol, I thought about putting out a trade feeler. Stock low mile for a high mile built right one. But then down the road I'd kick myself I'm sure.

if you plan on selling it keep it stock, if you plan on keeping for a while then do with it what you want, its always nice to start with a nice clean platform

My truck has 24k original miles truck has never been rained on. I tossed and turned with the idea but with these truck not really having a huge rise in value. I took the stock motor out put it on a engine stand and am building a complete bowtie setup. I haven't had to cut or beat anything with a hammer so when I'm done I can go all back to stock if I want. But do what makes you happy.

I would keep it stock. If you were to modify it, I would just do a chip and simple reversable mods. Ie stock turbo and tuned to run mid 12's...

That being said I should have kept my Syclone 100% stock for value and costs wise, but I would have been bored with itand probably would have sold it by now...

I still need to check if the ECM seal has ever been broke.

Preserve it and buy another one, build that ......

SY #???? 701 AWDHP
Would look good next to your stang.....

Code what?
Set a GOAL, set a LIMIT and you will be fine. These trucks have so many easy reliability mods it's stupid. Decide what you want to use the truck for and make your decision based on the goal and limit. Do not get carried away, keep the truck drivable and reliable. I circuit race mine, drag race and daily drive my Ty. I am highly confident in its ability to perform and reliability for long trips. All the info is on this forum to make the right decisions

I have a low mile Sy.

Non of my mods are extreme & I have not broke one thing on it, knock on wood.

I think it was worth it.

Pretty sure my Sy runs high 11's engine, trans, converter are 100% original, not touched.

Good luck on your decision.

I wish I kept mine stock and got it running right first. Modified trucks that run poorly are a dime-a-dozen.

Do what makes you happy? That's the stupidest shit I've ever heard. Dahmer.

So you ****ed up a low mile Sy? Are you happy? What if chopping babies heads off makes me happy? Should I do that?

Holy **** you are a dipshit.

Re: Mod or keep original?

I think as long as you have an end goal and stop yourself from the endless pursuit of more then it would be fine. If you said "OK, I am going to do A, B, and C until I get x amount of HP or can reliably run whatever 1/4 miles time" and then stopped when you got there without cutting corners then it would be a win. If you want to get really crazy I would do like another member mentioned and put the factory engine on a stand and build whatever you can afford. Either way you have to realistically know what you are doing. I am building mine to be a DD/stoplight warrior. I may make a few passes at a strip some day but mostly I want a fun daily so I have set out to do that.

It would also be nice if you actually paid for parts that you received. This Bill guy received parts he didn't pay for years ago. He's a thief.I don't know why he can still post here.
