Mitsubishi TD06H 14cm exhaust housing

Hey all..

Like the title says... I know some of you guys have a 20g lying around with a 14cm exhaust housing, that you have never installed because you didn't want to deal with swapping torque converters.. I can offer a sweet trade... I have a 10cm housing that has been ceramic coated in 2000* black that I would be willing to trade...

Im also good with buying just the housing or the whole turbo if the price is right.. So even if you have a 20g with a 14cm housing that needs a rebuild, let me know...

Thanks,

If you had a PTE60 or similar to trade I'd be interested. I'm ready to upgrade.

I'm sorry I don't.... But when you do upgrade, let a brother buy that 20g off of you!!!

You might want to look into adapting a HX35 or HX35-HX40 hybrid. Could be worth the trouble.

I have been thinking of upgrading from the 10cm I have now. Who makes a 14cm or might stock them?

That's the point of this thread dude... No one makes them and no one stocks them... That's why I've been on the hunt...

I'm confused. If no one makes them, and no one stocks them, then is this a true unicorn, or is it an item that was made at one time, and exists, but is difficult to source? If it was used on a different vehicle, what was it used on? Just curious. You know I like to learn stuff. Thanks.

Sup Mr. P... It was a common exhaust housing on most 20g's and if memory serves me correctly, were made for some sort of forklift or cab-over truck... They were produced and easy to get. I remember back when I got the Sy (2005), these 20g's were all over the place.. Now they pop up here and there in the $450 range for the whole turbo... I just need the exhaust housing since I have that nice 60-1 turbo (10cm exhaust housing) that I plan on being "the" turbo for my Ty.. The 10cm would suit me for my engine now and the 14cm would suit me for my engine after I do a super mild build...

The original Mitsu Heavy Industries 20g for the SyTy was put together with pieces and parts Mitsu already had. Can't remember the exact engine and chassis model but it was reportedly a Diesel engine less than 3 liters. There was a larger turbo, the 25g. Often found with an interesting turbine housing and wheel combo.
Biggest problem with the 14 cm housing is the terrible wastegate puck. If you cut the housing up and machine it for a larger flapper. Use the stretched out flange pattern 3 inch downpipe then maybe the boost control would be solid.
I like running the external on the crossover and not relying on any internal gate.
Back in the late 90s. A turbo supplier I once bought from used to buy the 4000 and 4100 turbos from Mitsu HD. 17c and 20g. Cannibalize them and build other turbos. They had bins of 17c compressor wheels and housings. And stock Sy turbine housings. I remember them scrapping roughly 150 of the turbine housings. Brand new. I had bought a couple for $10 each.

Code what?
3rd coast turbo here in Houston claims to have plenty of 8-12cm, last year I briefly asked about a 14 and they said not in stock, or would have to look into getting one. Worth a shot to call and ask, they have a good customer service reputation with rebuilds for all kinds of turbos here

Not to hijack the thread, but we have some further turbo development in the works to expand on the turbos equipped with batmowheels, stock and 20G.... one of the things is being able to offer a 10cm and 14cm housing and making them readily available. Its in the early stages so its a little ways away, but it is being worked on.

The housing I like to find another of is the 12 cm I only had one. Used the 9 blade TD06 turbine wheel. Housing had to be machined a bit. Sort of halfway between where a stock TD06 wheel is and the TD06H. Is where I ended up mm wise. It sure worked good when I tested it on the dyno. For a 20g it spools so fast and was 26 psi almost like a light switch. Turned it down to 22. Its on E85.

Thanks for the tip Aaron... I hit up Brian and he had exactly what I needed/wanted!! I got the whole TD06H 20g 14cm2 turbo from him. It needs a rebuild, so I plan to steal the 14cm2 housing from it, rebuild it, throw my ceramic coated 10cm2 housing on it, and list it for sale.... This TD06H 20g 10cm2 turbo should be a great turbo for someone that wants to keep the stock torque converter and add a little more turbo:tup:

Stay tuned....

Thanks,

So a batmowheel 20g with a 9 blade 10cm housing would be possible ?

Re: Mitsubishi TD06H 14cm exhaust housing

I have an extra stock exhaust housing and and extra stock intake housing that I will give you. Cut them up however you want. I was going to make a lamp out of it.
