Memcal Bbzb 1579

I recently ordered a AC delco prom chip for my truck. I got part # 16181579 and it contained chip # BBZB 1580. It works great, better than before. Before, I had BBZA 1576. So I decided to order another chip for back-up or to sell to the community. I received part #16181579 and it contained chip # BBZB 1579, not BBZB 1580. Does anybody know if this chip will still work? Does anybody know what vehicle a BBZB 1579 goes with?

BBZB was the last update for SyTy's. They actually never came on any SyTy from the factory. BBZA was on 93's.

So BBZB 1579 and BBZB 1580 are the same? Will they both work in our trucks?

I didn't even catch the 1579/1580, I thought you were talking about the 1576/1580 difference. I have no idea if they are they same, i have never heard of a 1579 before...

It's a date code. They just burned them in a different batch. The broadcast code (BBZB) is what specifies the code and cal data in a given PROM.

Thank you Dig! That is the info I was looking for. I think I will test it in a month.
