I'm going gilbert... partly because they're local to me and have a good rep here and with the local rod shops / builders

Re: McCoy SuperShaft or Gilbert Propshaft????

looks pretty similar to the gilbert... heck, with the price difference I want my truck number engraved on the shaft and gold plated

Amazingly, my stocker is still good after 100K+ miles - it is even surviving the 500 HP that I have now. I must just be lucky. U can look @ the McCoy one on the site. I don't have a pic of the Gilbert, but I seem to remember that it has a single U joint on ea end, whereas, the McCoy has a double U on the same end that the stock one does ? Both replace the CV on the rear (or front ?). Gotta wonder if both might be a little rougher w/o the CV joint ?

the almost 200$ price difference CAN'T BE worth it, for damn near $600 you should be able to get a custom fabbed alum. shaft

and as far as the ride goes, there was NO noticable added roughness when i swapped to the gilbert

it's my recommendation aswell

quick service and an uber stout piece

Anyone try using a shaft from a 92 bravada? It replaces the cv joint w/ a u-joint setup, but still has the cardigan joint. What is the weak link in these shafts?

I also looked at one from a 2nd gen blazer, looks like the cardigan setup is beefed up a tad on these.

Found pics for all of them on www.napaonline.com ,

NPR12356 for bravada

NPR12364 is the newer body style shaft.

cant go wrong with the gilbert even if it's a few $ more(bigger joints and larger shaft). the double cardon joint is likely to blow up as is the small dia shaft and weak front joint design.

I've sold 6 in the last 6 weeks for 700 equipped syty's and 3 for 4L80 trucks and not a single failure of a gilbert EVER!

I use the Gilbert in all of my 4L80E conversion builds I do. No one's had any issues out of them.
