Re: Marlboro Clone (pic)

If the original picture was big and in good detail that's kind of easy to do in ps7, the newer ps can make it look even better which it looks like that pics been done in. (takes a little work in ps7)

definately nothing to do with Roberts truck.. Red truck has different seats, no cage and a 3 gauge pod. Also look at the battery shutoff switch, etc. I have a couple guys in Norway who order parts, i will try and find out if it is real. I like the overall look though. super clean!

Re: Marlboro Clone (pic)

Just called DMV and asked for any information they was willing to give me. The plate belongs to a GMC owned by Ole Ivar Lønnum, from Molde, he have paid the yearly taxes on the car and his last emission+tech inspection was reported the 27 september 2007, he was supposed to have one again in 2009, but doesnt look like he passed that one.

If you can tell me where you found the pic?? I could probebly tell you if its real or not to
Edit: by where I mean link:D

By the way, what battery shut off switch? The black stuff closed to the plate are lights that we have to have. Stupid Norwegian rules:roll:

This may help the mystery. I found these pics long ago, and I would take a bet its the same truck. Look at the tailgate decal... its crooked going into the bottom crease of the gate just like in the art picture.

Im sure if you search the forum or site, you'll find your owner. So the art photo is not a photoshop, other than the effects applied to it.

Yup. That truck is the same. On the "club" homepage its just stated that the truck is "crazy buildt" and the owner have had problems keeping it on the road, it is a true syclone, but a marlboro clone.

Here its what their page on the truck says:
"Denne er trimmet noe hinsides. Bilen skulle vært på veien for lenge siden men problemer har ført til at den ikke kommer på veien før 2004.
Bilen er en Marlboro replica. Du kan lese mer om Syclone`s historie her.
Modell: 1991
Motor: V6 turbo
Gir: Th700-R4
Eier: Ole Ivar Lønnum
Sted: Eidsvåg"

The same group of guys have their hands on two other syclones to. But none of the have been seen racing, or even running in a long time. One of the owners is the founder of "moldestuket" wich is a group of wellknown car builders.

Anyway, the truck is real, not photshopped, but that picture obviously have some kind of filters applied to it to make it look the way it does.

Here is a pic of one of the other trucks

Sorta on topic... notice the guy painted the core support. Has anyone else ever done this and have pics? I might do this to the Nacho Ty....

I noticed that too. It looks very nice on that Syclone. I also like how he painted the headlight bezels black too

The real Marlys had the Argent metallic bezel areas, if I recall correctly.

I found a pretty good spray can offering from SEM that matches the original quite close.
(Close enough for me to not notice the difference)

You should do a Targa Roof on the Mexi, Adam... that'd be perfect for where you live.

Re: Marlboro Clone (pic)

In the pic, if he was doing some sort of burnout, why aren't the front wheels spinning like the back ones appear to be. Just curious, but what do I know??

Because the rears are spinning faster than the fronts...if he is creeping forward, your not going to get the blur on the fronts.

Old thread, I know, but came across more pics of that truck while browsing around and sent a friend request to the owner, Ole Ivar Lønnum.
