have a great oppertunity to pick up an ls6 in a camaro ready to go. obviusly I need oil pan, exhuast, motor mounts, etc. what else? also do I have to buy a newer trans like 4l80e now or can I bolt the 700 up for now till it goes boom? any insight would be great thanks.
LS6 in a camaro would have had to be swapped into a it(unless they built cars I didnt know about) and the 700 should bolt up you may hev to change flywheels though.
basically I found a 94 camaro with a newer low millage ls6 in it and its cheap. i was originally just gonna keep the old carb 350 setup for now but this came along.
i've owned multiple gen III powered vehicles never had an internal engine issue plus once all the hard work in done a 5.3l long block is 200-400 at a junk yard, many go 9's with nothing more than rod bolts (other platforms)
I was planning on spraying or S'charging the engine in that truck, you have a ZZ4 aluminum head engine in there. With a few tweaks it'll make big power.

I planned on rebuilding the trans and driving it. alluminum intake and heads don't bolt together true, decked block milled heads ? was blower water, took it apart found half of the intake to head bolts stripped. couldn't get the engine to stop blowing water so I pulled it and tossed the heads and intake. now I don't know if I trust it? stock lsx is a much better power plant in my opinion.
Wow, I didn't know it was that thrashed. Owner before me dicked around with it a bunch, I just re-set the timing (he had it 180 off), stuck a makeshift exhaust on it and drove it.
