Daron - I'll get some engine pics up later this week after I clean it up abit. The engine bay is filthy right now!

Man I can't BELIEVE how far this truck has come since this post ! I think that I speak for quite a few of us on here that your journey has been inspiring ! If you need or want some sort of one off custom machined piece, drop me a line. It doesn't have to be limited to the engine bay BTW...

Which crossroads to you live near? I'm on Mcdowell and Ellsworth..

Thanks for the comments guys, It just has to hit the paint shop one more time for acouple fixes in probably 2-3 weeks. After that it should be pretty much ready to put insurance back on it and drive it around. Wooo!

I'm on the opposite side of Mesa off Dobson and the 202. Had to move closer to work. You still workin at that restaurant?

Yep, I'm still working there. Sounds like you live pretty close to my school though.

Got the cladding entirely on now. The back end took a lot of messing with but it came out pretty well.

Engine bay shot.

Excuse the dirt, the truck needs a thorough cleaning, but I'm waiting till it returns from the body shop.

We're still screwing with the windows. The window channel kit from LMC is junk and both windows keep popping out of the track. May end up having to order GM stuff..

Other than that, the truck is going back down to the body shop this coming Monday for a couple things. All-in-all it won't be much longer till I can finish it up, get everything all clean, and take some nice high res pics somewhere.

i got window channels off ebay ($125 for both) and a gmc peice ($90 for one) as well and the ebay stuff fit better and was the same price for both windows as it was for one real gm peice

Hey guys, few quick updates..

Picture034.jpg

Got the bed cover all on. The only thing left to do with it is figure out some sort of a latch. Since the tailgate handle is shaved, I need a way of opening the bed cover without opening the tailgate first. We will probably end up using some kind of trunk latch and a solenoid to pop the latch open. More to come on that next week.

Fuel pressure and Trans temp gauges are all in and working. I'm pleased with how they turn out. They look great and have a cool red backing light for night time driving so they match the red/black themed interior. I'm gonna have to live with an empty 3rd hole for awhile, but it will be filled with a boost gauge soon enough

The bed is getting very close to being finished and it is coming out very well! I'll be getting the center section brushed tomorrow so the finish will match the rest of the floor. Other than that, we will be hinging the center piece up near the gas tank so that center section will be able to flip up. Should come out pretty cool! I'll keep ya all posted.

looks great

have you driven it much in the rain? I would bet it could get pretty gnarly.

Nope. I still need to register it and insure it actually. I've just been holding off because I'm not sure what I'm doing as far as paint goes yet. I'm going to try my best not to get caught in the rain with it mainly because I think it will be a nightmare to clean the thing up after doing so. Not sure how the rear tires would do in the rain though. The Nitto drag radials apparently aren't that terrible in the rain...so I've heard. Not sure though..

Dan- It would be cool to meet up again at the pavilions. Once my truck is done, I was gonna try to get a date set up where we could get a good amount of syty's down there again or just some kind of event in general.

Oh and I forgot to post this pic..

Just got my new floor mats alittle while back. They look awesome! Thanks to AutoVation.

Nope, I bought it from checkmate actually. Its fiberglass with an aluminum frame. Pretty lightweight considering its a hard tonneau.

Do you have a part # for it and location of where you got it? TIA
