Looking For Pictures / Ideas For Sub Box In Rear Hatch

I don't want to build a massive system by any means...Just something that's going to sound good inside the truck.

I am looking for pictures/ideas for those of you who have "stealthly" mounted a sub and amp. My thought is to do a box on the right hand side of the hatch, around the wheel well in the back. I have seen a picture of a sub mounted there before with the amp (can't remember when) and was wondering if anyone has a setup like this already? I don't want to compromise the space in the rear with a big ass box. I want to be able to still put the back seats down as well.

Does anyone have a setup on the side like that? Or on the opposite side to replace where the spare tire mounts? If yes, were you able to find a prebuilt box online or did you custom make one?

Thanks in advance.

My truck has 2 amps in the tailgate and a 10" sub in a custom box opposite the spare tire. Actually looks good and fits great, does not take up that much space and sounds good. Can still fold down back seat. I dont have any current pics but can get some for you.

If you guys have pics and can't post them here, if you could shoot them to me at n8d615@gmail.com that would be great.

both setups that you two are referring to sound like what I am looking to accomplish. For some reason I think the picture that I see in my head was in a white Ty, but not 100% for sure. I just don't want a big ass box sitting there taking up all the space. If it were a show truck, that would be a different story.

Got 'em, thank you! You happen to have any of the "finished" product? My imagination isn't that good this morning. Where do you have your amp mounted? In the "cut out" towards the tailgate?

I'm up there all the time. I'm replacing the fuel pump in the Sy right now so it's all ripped apart. When I get it back together I'll give you a shout.

wtf is that just above the sub on the left??? is that port for the box or another speaker? Looks like the same thing is on the other side too... clean install aside from that haha. You'd also have to knock it down to 1 sub on a side in a typhoon... the pic is a 4-door and the trunk is longer.

I am wanting to something pretty much EXACTLY like that. Did you fab the box yourself or a shop create it for you?
For everyone, here's the pics:

Watever you end up doing make sure you have a breathing whole in the box, suv definitely need a ported box, sealed box will restrict the bass, sealed box is more for sedans and cars wit a trunk.

sealed or ported depends on the woofer, if has zero to do with car type,

X2. Isobaric subs are capable of sounding good in a very small enclosure, but they need lots of power. My brother had an iso box under each front seat in his old 86 Capri. Drove them w/ a bridged 400 watt amp each. Lots of thump, but not enough smooth, pure sound for my tastes.
In the extended cab I have a Rockford Fosgate 6x9 bandpass box behind the drivers seat. Sounds good for the size and not too big.
