looking for a pair of tires 275/40R17

ok well, i figure if Im gonna get my truck to e-town, I better get on the ball soon, starting with the fact that I need to do something about my tires and/or wheels.

my 315 rears are shot, one still has a bolt in it and the other has so many cracks it wont hold air for more than a couple weeks.

I guess im just gonna use the sawblades Ive been trying to sell, but in order to do that I need two more tires to make that happen.

Looking for something cheap obviously cause Im really not in the mood to invest a ton of money into this POS right now. Tread doesnt need to be great, just enough that would normally get through inspection, since that is the next thing on the list :lol:

let me know if you have anything cluttering up your garage, ill gladly come and get them when I can.

I have the tires that came on the sawblades I got at Don's. I do not remember the sizes though but actually have 4. Need to get the sizes from Don and see what they are and if they are the same hieght I guess. I know the 2 front are the same size and the 2 backs are the same size but not all the same as each other. They had a good amout of tread but arn't all the same brand. I was gonna ebay them but that seems like a lot of work for almost nothing. If you can use them they are yours.

I also have some 17" 10 spoke camaro ss wheels in chrome(need a lot of cleanning and are a little pitted). I don't think you want wheels but I figured I would throw it out there before I ebay them.

Got 4 stock wheels w/tires in Beach Haven.Look at Jim's pictures(locals only)in this forum.

If they work for you,I'm sure we could work out some kind of trade down the line.Even if you just want to borrow them.Mike

well at this point it doesnt really matter, theres no chance in hell the truck will even get 5% of the broken shit fixed by next weekend, not gonna waste my time, money or effort for 1 day.

Morgan you have that much stuff to do to take it to the swap meet? I only ask because it was at the hooters meet a few months ago. Unless you wanted to get it inspected before the swap meet. I remember you saying its been out of inspection for a while. If I was closer I would offer to come out and give you a hand even though I don't know shit about the trucks I could hand you stuff and do little stuff. I will be at Don and Tara's at least a day before the swap meet but I could possibly come a day or so earlier then that and give you a hand if you wanted?

thanks Jeff, unfortunately I just dont have enough time between work and everything else. I did want to get it inspected, but I have too much stuff to fix to even get it to that point. Hopefully I can at least figure out what the electrical problem is with it and fix that issue so I dont need to drive around with jumper cables and extra batteries this year, lol.

Ok. I told Don to get the tire sizes for you but since he is Don I will have to remind him or get him to do it while on the phone with him. Is your truck still running 2wd? I only ask because it really wont matter the tire size for now? I believe the rears were285/35 or 40/17 and the fronts were 255/?/17. They had good tread I think just a few different brands.

Not really sure what Im gonna do at this point, I have a feeling either E-town or Jimmys BBQ will be the last voyage #180 takes, so Im kinda on the fence if Im even gonna bother with new tires or not.

Nice! As much of a pain it is you will miss it because its been with you so long. Don actually checked the tire sizes and they are 285/40/17 and 255/45/17 and they all come to 26" tall. I know there is a front and back of the same brand but do not remember what the other 2 are. Don said the 255's are really good tread wise and the 285's were ok I think he said. I know when I got the rims they were fine (held air) and all I did was take them off to strip the wheels and they have been in the side room at Dons since. If you want them they are yours. If not I will just offer them with the 10 spoke ss wheels if anyone local wants to buy them.
