That's one of the bigger differences, plus the silly door "estucheons" and roof rack. I personally prefer the grille treatment on a '92, but like my '93 better. Much better seats.

Re: Looking for a cheap(er) 93 Ty

I'm starting to think about letting my 93 go. 45k miles. Completely stock, and very clean. Runs great. I haven't driven it much in the last year, and starting to think I should let someone else enjoy it. It is Grn/Gry. I don't know that I can get it down as low as you are looking, but I could go 10k on it.

Damn, thats a deal, but no way I can swing 10k...if I could, we'd be talkin.....

Can't believe you haven't gotten more hits on your truck Dave. That's one Typhoon that would definitely be worth owning

Hey Adam if grnty3377 is so hard up for money (even though he just bought his wife a 335i and is planning on buying an x6) that he is willing to c4c his Sy than maybe you should make him an offer he cant refuse on his Ty.

heh.... I did Imperial.....I was chasing him since Feb and this was the truck I mentioned a few posts above that I thought I almost had.

Long story short, the Ty was in a minor accident, but all fixable....gave tons of advice and information to help. I was willing to buy it smashed. I waited....and waited...and waited to make the deal. Finally, we agreed on a price. Couldnt make contact for awhile, finally did make contact. He had to go retrieve the truck from the shop it was sitting at supposidly untouched waiting on what to do with it. I was told that when he went to retrieve the truck from the shop, they had torn it apart without consent and he decided to just make a deal with them on the truck.

Thats as much as Im willing to talk about it publicly.

Ive moved on, still searching for the right 93.....

This makes things a little more clear... now I must agree with the others in that he is :talkpoo:.

Why the hate for the 92's?

Don't like the seats?

The 92 seats look better to me. IMO

92' suck. The seats are uncomfortable, other than the stitching in the headrests, they look gay too, the roof racks are square and crappy (not that any roof rack looks great), the only WIN about the 92's is the silver decals.

92's should be parted out to save more 93's, and then crushed

Ok, for those who dont talk to me in chat or know my hate for 92s. Here it is the main things that I dont like:

The leather/cloth combo SUCKS. If it was all leather, fine. The "crinkle" effect on the door panels looks like the work done by pimp my rides in a hurry to get it finished. I like the seat shape and embroidery, but they are uncomfy for long periods. Fatman seats FTW....oh yeah... 92s are manual, 93s are powered.

Door eschuceons - I dont need to go further.

No overhead console. I like having overhead map lights and a place to put misc loose items.

92s dont have color matched grilles. It bothers me.

The old skool box style roof rack sucks and looks like a 1980s special.

92s sit higher

Lower dash shelf has felt in it that keeps from crap sliding around or blasting out at your passengers face when boost launching

Geez Morgan tell us what you really think. Did a 92 have an affair with one of your former g/f's or what. I guess I am happy that I have a 93, that way you don't look down on me.

OK. I am NOT trying to "hook up" Adam. He's a friend. This should probably be in a PM to him, but because this is now "in the open", I'll post here. If he can post his opinion openly, I can too.

My observations in the FS section have been that the 92s and 93 are priced according to condition and content (specifically color and mods), and not on their desirability depending on which year it is. I haven't seen any tendency to price 93s higher because of the year.

Adam's rant regarding "92s are shit" is counterproductive to his desire to buy a 93 for cheap. He obviously thinks 93s are better, so he must be willing to pay more for a 93 with otherwise identical 'value' than a 92. So anyone with a 93 that is for sale should be able to extract a "premium" in price from him. If your contacted by him regarding the purchase of your 93, double the price. He has been very vocal in his desire to own a 93 over a 92, this implies he'll pay much more for a 93, so let him do so.

Some of us own darn nice 92s. And some of us are actively trying to sell our 92s for a fair price, (in our opinion). We're a small community, and the 92-bashing by "SyTy King Pins" is getting old. I feel it is detrimental to opinion regarding what the value of our 92s is in the eye of a potential buyer, as the potential buyer will weigh the 'anti-92 sentiment' into what he perceives the value of the deal to be.

I accept there may be a value / price difference between the years because of 'desirability'. But I'm not comfortable sitting by idly and watching the value of my 92 be influenced by prominent members (thinking it's "all in fun") when I am actively trying to sell a very nice 92.

Let's keep it in the Chat Room, Adam.

92s are better 93 are Jimmys with body kits, the 92 have alot more ty specific parts than just the seats, the rear speaker grilles are 1992 only , 92s are better cause well I own one, and they arent badge engineering
