If you want a custom housing heres the way to go....

heres a couple pics of the new fab housings that we are building in house, now. I have used several companies' housings over the years, and there was something i didn't like about every one. sometimes, just the price!

These are made from parts that I designed and engineered. all components are laser cut and CNC folded at Hagel Metal Fab. in East Peoria. these are assembled by hand, one at a time on a surface plate fixture. this ensures a quality part that can be setup to accomodate any width. as of now, all the axle tubes are 3" DOM seamless, which is the standard for most suspension brackets. the custom drag housings will feature 4130 chromemoly construction with a 3 1/2" .250 wall tube, TIG welded throughout.

Price for the standard housing is $369.00, including filler bung and cap, drain, ARP housing studs. vent and choice of Strange billet ends are included, also, but are not installed.
Custom 4130 drag housings are priced per application, call for quote.

Same guy that built that vette I posted about here http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=51522

Im not trying to advertise for him on the forum or anything, just saying its a good price and thought if anyones looking it might help them out.

those pictures hurt my eyes! be careful I don't "think" 3.42 is available in ford 9inch and for those looking to go really fast and want a 3.08, I know for sure that ratio is not available.

Yep, as discussed in another thread on here. Someone did find a 3.08 gear but it is not "common" closest to 3.42 was a 3.5 I think.

I was thinking you could compensate for it with tire size, but I didnt know what size and Im not so good at figuring all that up. Not that Im going to do it, but thats good info and I was curious about it. :D
