Re: Lmc window channels

I just recieved mine. I haven't installed them yet. But they look precut and as good as OEM. Your talking about the $120 run channel/window sill kit, right?

Re: Lmc window channels

I installed a set in my 87 S10 and had no problem with it. The pain was having to remove the exist metal track from the old ones and installing them in new set.

Re: Lmc window channels

Yes I am talking about the $119 channel set by Lmc. They also have them sold as individuals at $139 each. I asked the lady on the phone why are those more. She said that they are a different manufacturer.

So the kit does not come with the metal track.

Did you have to remove the glass? and buy new brackets for the glass?

Thanks,
Ernest

Re: Lmc window channels

Ok, I just went to install my new LMC run channels. I started with the driver's side. What a pain! I got it all in to only find out that the tracks came out of the box bent. So the bracket on the window wouldn't stay in the track. So I had to pull it all out again and figure out wtf was up. Eventually I found out that the tracks were bent. So I could either do one of two things. Try to bend them back into shape, or swap the old ones into the new channels. I went with plan B. Finally got the drivers side done. I think the passenger side should go in alot easier now that I know what to expect. But the quality of the actual run channels themselves from LMC are to OEM specs. So they're definately worth getting over OEM or any universal fit channels. Just gotta watch those damn metal tracks!

Re: Lmc window channels

Thanks for the update. I will inspect the metal tracks before I start the job.

I take it you did not need to take off the window and put in new brackets.

Re: Lmc window channels

The window pulls out easily and makes the job about 500 times easier. You can get away without it, but I highly recommend just pulling it out.

I didnt spend that much to replace my passenger side one, and I ordered it from LMC...
