That's kinda like me a few weeks back...I saw a Porsche Carerra 4 playing in traffic...jumping on it and what not...I pulled a couple of manuevers and lined up with...my POS 735iL. I'd just killed the Sy's engine 4 days earlier...sum bitch.

Maybe we should start a post.

"What cars have you had the opportunity to race but were in the wrong car?"

It seems anytime I see a car that would be fun to race - and WILLING to race I am in the Saturn. Not that the Saturn isn't fast - but you understand :)

Had a chance against a diadlo sv at the dream cruise was next to him for 4 lights with open road he would not play. But the cobra nexxt to me would  Ive ran into 2 diablos and none of them will play I wonder if they buy those cars because they are compensating for something?

I ran into a Diablo on the way home from work while I was living in Devner with Will a couple years ago. Of course he didn't want to play - how could he explain spending 250 large for a car that just lost a street race to a 6-cylinder "Blazer".

IMHO people with "high profile" sportscars will (in general) never race anyone on the street - they have nothing to gain and everything to lose. If they win, they should've. If they don't, they have the humiliation of losing to a typically much cheaper car. Now if I had the Diablo... :p

I pulled up on an older viper one night, wide open safe road ahead....and in my 89 Cavy. I did rev it up and drop the clutch though...

Ah yes, reminds me of the time I was coming back from showing at the Drive-in on Tampa in the Valley (LA). Cool night, no traffic...itching for a race (I was in a Grand National). About 10 pm, I see a brand new Cobra R (the orange one) pull out of exclusive Bell Canyon. Just me and him on the wide open road. I revved, I surged, I powerbraked. Nothin. Couldn't get a reaction from this guy. Couldn't understand it, but the explanation above explains exactly why no porsche, ferrari, lambo, lotus, etc. would EVER race me in California.

I had one of these pass me on I-81N in PA yesterday. GOD was that a beautiful car!!! Looked like it sat .00000025 inches off the ground.

When I saw it all I could say over and over was "OMG thats beautiful..." .

I can't believe anyone would drive one of those on our pothole POS roads. Sheeeit, my Ty scrapes sometimes just driving it around. I've had 3 3rd-gen Camaros, and I just gave up trying to keep the lower fascia nice - it was a losing battle. I personally think the alignment shops have a REAL good lobbyist in Harrisburg. Oh well, at least the guys at PennDOT have gotten pretty good at holding their shovels vertical. :-?

My thoughts exactly.. They either planned their route VERY well to avoid anything larger than a peice of gravel or "scraping" the bottom of an F1 to someone with LOTS of money just doesnt affect them the way it would mere mortals like myself.. As low as it was it looked, IMO, like you couldnt drive it anywhere unless the roads were glass smooth.

They werent going too fast as I had the cruise set to 73mph so Id guestimate them at 75-80ish. Still wouldnt matter IMO how slow they went.. They would prolly leave chunks of the underside if they were doing 25mph anyway.

Seeing it made the trip from VA to MA and back in one day worth it though.

Saw a Diablo, & Countach in the same day, saw the Countach first, at about 3am, on the local street racing scene. The Diablo, I was waiting at a light when I hear a loud ass 70 Nova SS take off like a bat outa hell, then I see the Diablo, slowly creep through the light, going like 10mph. Guess he did not want any of the Nova, danm Diablo was low as hell, shit I think he could go under a semi, without a problem. Funny thing is, is that prior to that day, I had never seen a Lambo in CO, seen them in Cali, but never here. Lined up next to a GN one day, in the beater Olds, it was not funny when I took off, & he noticed this. He went by me the the blistering force of a god damn hurricane. Damn I want to get the truck running.

no Ron, I'm not responding to your post to slam you...

Remember the Lambo from Dumb & Dumber? That was Mr. Emich's Lambo...he used to own all the Emich dealership before that numbnuts came to Denver and bought 80% of the dealerships in town. But I digress...

I thought you said it was dead...she was gettin' an R/T. :-?

-AA

It's alive again to the tune of $600.
She wants to know if you'll move out here and manage her money for her so she can GET an R/T...

It's still dead to me.
It'll never be part of the family...

Lined up against a 02 Mustang GT... too bad I was in the MX-6. The guy pulled a huge U'y at around midnight on Saturday to line up with us. My lane on the right dropped off after about 150ft, but I surprised him by staying neck and neck through 2nd. He must have jumped the gun on third, and shifted back into 2nd, and really dropped the clutch because his damn rear end almost came off the ground. We pulled in Wendy's parking lot, and the guy came through to gloat. Didnt say a word about what I could of been driving, but I did make a comment about double the displacement. Hope to see him after... after the truck finally comes home.
