Re: Lightweight wheels
look at weld wheels. i think that's what ed hess is running so you can get the numbers from him. my buddies jim and matt hoover are running very expensive magnesius 2 piece but when i say expensive... i mean EXPENSIVE ! check on what they say about the weld stars being street driveable, but i know people who have them and drive on them all the time. try to avoid potholes

kind of depends where you live and what the roads are like. you don't need to remove all that much wieght from your truck to make it go fast. turbo motors don't respond the same as normal motors and wieght loss. most of the problems in fast times are from making enough power to push the awd through the quarter. the wheels will help but not as much as making some good traction. check out phillip longs site (turbo6) he really hasn't done much wieght removing on it from the time he got it from me. took off the abs i think and actually tried fiberglass springs and broke and didn't like them. most of his times come from tuning and chassis setup which consist of a set of caltracs and better shocks than when he got it from me. my stokes sy had fiberglass shocks and adjustable ranchos with caltrac type bars. stock wheels and bfg drag radials. other than that it was full wieght. for what you will pay for a bunch of carbon fiber parts and other saving techniques you'll be better to spend time and money on getting it to run good with tuning and some traction techniques. stay with that stuff for a while and take a look at phils website.
all this info from me and not one smartass crack about check search.... go figure

guess i can go fast and be polite too. sometimes a hard combination around here. welcome to the syty board chad
