Lightning Wheels...

Hi,

Was just looking in the Rim Try out link on this site and saw the lightning wheels listed. Just curious if anyone can confirm that they would fit on the Typhoon.

Thanks, Rick

89 views and no one knows.

Please anyone just a yes or no as I like the look of the lightning wheels and would be interested in sticking a set on my typhoon.

Thanks, Rick

it used to be a "standard" that GM and Ford bolt patterns were NOT able to be crossed. Now things could have changed, but I dont know. The BEST thing to do is drive to a car shop that can order wheels, hell, i think Pep Boys will even have a book on it, and have them check the bolt patterns, thats the first step, then you might wanna hit up a Lightning owner from this board if they are compatible and see what the backspacing is and go from there.
Hope that helps.

I would have to think that even if the bolt pattern matched (in the past the GM stuff would not cross over, Mopar and FoMoco had the same pattern at 4 1/2" vs Gm 4 3/4") The positive offset of that wheel would extend it beyond the fenders of the SY Ty by quite a bit in the front.

Thanks for the replies and it makes sense what you are saying but I was thinking since they were in the Rim try out they must have worked. But I'm gonna try and find someone to let me try one of their wheels and will post to let everyone know.

Thanks, Rick

Go to http://www.wheelreplicas.com , click on the "Lightening" rim, and you will see that they are available in 18" or 20" with 3 bolt patterns available: 5X135mm, 5X5", and 5X5.5"
The 5X5" will fit full size GM trucks from '92-00. They will NOT fit our trucks.
