LED Gauge Bulbs

Re: LED Gauge Bulbs

When I pulled the cluster apart, it had light blue plastic housings for the odometers. If I had a 3D printer, I could build new mounting housings in a clear plastic:D
Much easier to do overlay faces, or like I did redo pod gauges to match.
A warm LED might give more greenish result.

Re: LED Gauge Bulbs

If the cool white LEDs make the gauges look blue would that not be caused from the bulb giving off a white light? White LEDs should mean white gauges but it sounds like it comes out blue tinted. I am thinking about the fact that the factory color has that distinctive sea greenish look. The stock bulbs would give off that regular old amber/yellowish, or more suited as a warm light. Would the warm white LED really make the gauges look white or would they actually come out looking more like that original sea green type color? I have considered doing this upgrade before but was hesitant because ive oldly always liked the sea green color as came stock.

the warm white LEDs give off pretty much the same color of the incandescent bulbs so I think you'll be ok. The cool white err true white err whatever they call them do have a little bit of a blue hue to them so you'll get more of a blue look with the stock gauges. Keep in mind the camera also skews the color a bit too... I had to edit my photo in photoshop to get it to look more like the real color.

Get the warm white if you want it to look more like stock just brighter. Even then, it's what? $20 in bulbs and maybe a couple hours of time to test it out? I've pulled the eff'n cluster out so many times I can swap bulbs in about 20 minutes... provided that cable for the heat/cool control doesn't give me any shit!
