leaking injectors

had rear pass injector leaking and tried loosening rail to re seat it. It still leaks and seeing a bit in the front injector as well. I assume needs new o rings. whats the best way to reseat the injectors and do I need to take upper intake off to do this? Trying to disturb as little as possible thanks for any tips

Re: leaking injectors

You don't need to...Just take the 4 bolts off and lift the rail. I had to do this about a month and a half ago and was afraid I was going to have to take everything off of the top.
Kind of a bitch to raise the rail, but I just used a long screw driver and propped it and lifted slightly.
Got mine replacement orings from Napa. Just make sure to lube up the oring before trying and putting it back onto the rail.
Once it was replaced it again was kind of a bitch to get the rail to pop back down onto the injectors, but I did the same thing with the screw driver but pushed down using the intake for leverage.
FWIW, I did have to remove the Intercooler obviously to get to the ones on the passenger side.

Re: leaking injectors

before you put them back together get some engine assembly lube and put a light coat on the o-rings. it will help it go together and keep the rings from twisting or streaching weird when your trying to get the rail back on. I have done this on my rails and it helps alot.

Re: leaking injectors

Thanks for the tips and the links. I got the truck with a leak and finally found the injector was leaking. Leaking oil I'm use to but not playing with the gas spraying everywhere

Re: leaking injectors

Make sure not to pinch your injectors between your fuel rail and lower intake too tightly, doing can cause your fuel to boil and make the injector pulse noticeably louder.

Re: leaking injectors

So got the o-rings in and now leaking worse then before not sure what happened didn't pinch the new ring and really can't push rail down any more. It the rearpass injector and thats the problwmail has not much more adjustment down. Anyone have thoughts how to fix problem?
