Ok i have a older version on my old laptop that works fine but when i bought my new laptop with windows7 i downloaded the latest DM to run on that but it just will not show a com port to link to.:banghead: The only thing i can think of is does the new DM program not need the aldl converter :dunno:. I know i could use my old laptop but if i have something that i can't get to work it drives me:screwy: so please heeeeelllllllllllp.

I had the same problem. I bought the cable from Moates and it works but, one thing you should try first is to wait a while. Mine has taken almost 5 minutes to show the COM ports.

Thats why when I get new laptops I make sure it has rs232 port.

It's getting harder to find one with an rs232 port, plus if you want something you can actually put on your lap without removing the steering wheel, the list is smaller (as I smile at my toughbook :D)

It's working :woot: I went into device manager and it was showing the moates usb was connected but was not showing a driver, so i updated the driver and DM showed a com port ready for use straight away so i opened a file and i was up and logging data :woot: and then i noticed it's got a bit more KR than i like:doh: so i guess it's time for a bit of tuning. :lol:

Its no secret I openly admit it, as far as I can remember from the age of about six iv'e wished I was American. ENGLAND SUCKS.:(

Thats why i always keep a copy of the old datamaster on cd . No new registration issues etc even though i never use dm anymore . Now that you see what the ecm says in dm , you have to swap to TP5 and find those hiccups again to fix them .

Tunerpro Rt FTW imo .
