Pleasant Hill?
Isn't that where they have all the gang problems????

being from the east coast, all I know about cali can be summed up in the following:

gays, gangs, earthquakes, wildfires, shitty emissions, hippie government, expensive, sweet sweet classic car scene.

three cheers for the left coast!

10 mile drive down 680. Well worth it. I'll bet your business partner will even like it.

The Gay Gangs are the worst. :p

Seriously, you need to get out Jersey more often. There's much more to Cali than your short list. Plus, you left out "some of the hottest women on the planet" (SoCal especially), Redwoods, Del Mar, Yosemite, on and on. And yes, the car scene is like none other.

I've been to lots of places.. of course i'd like to travel more.. currently i'm on a caribbean kick.. i think the goal is to hit up every island before I need to renew my passport.. eventually i'll do europe and what not.. as for the continential US.. I was on a bunch of family vacations back in the day and from what I've seen its all pretty much the same, we are all americans no matter what state we are in.

part of the reason i go to nationals and homecoming is to travel and check out other parts of the country. This will be my first time in Cali, i've always disliked cali and refered to it as the waste coast :D

we'll see how nice it is, according to my company we might have 20 or so more installs next year out there.. so i might be out there a bit more often.

I spent two weeks in Gay Bay (San Fran) when I was still in school. I credit those two weeks for making me the introverted, skeptical, narrow minded ultra conservative redneck I am today.

The Gay Mafia & Ultra-libs definately have a stranglehold on the city.

I tend to think of it this way: There's Calif and there's everywhere else. Then there's San Francisco and there's Calif.

BTW Just FYI Don't call it "San Fran" or "Frisco." Even us traditionalist don't like those terms. It's either San Francisco or, preferably, "The City." If you don't do anything else you should probably drive across the Golden Gate. Doesn't matter how many times you do it you never get tired of seeing that bridge.

x2.

You guys watch too much TV...you'd think the whole region was colored in rainbows. It's not. There's the business district, Presidio, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf (touristy, sure), Sausalito, Tiburon, Muir, etc etc.

It's a great city and NorCal is a great part of the country. I even know a few conservatives up there (sure, they're miserable, but the terrain makes up for the politics of the place). You're lucky to be going Eric. (I'm going in Dec. with family)
