Just bought a Syclone!!

Hi! My name is Rhett. Just picked up a very clean Syclone for my dad. Im from Mesa AZ, and I picked it up yesterday from Sunland Ca. Im very impressed with it too. I dont know what mods to do first, so Im hoping someone on here can help me with a nice bolt on mod list for now. The truck has 98k, and runs, and drives like new! Its got Rancho adjustable shocks, sways, etc. It also has a 4 wheel Baer disc brake setup. I will post up some pictures this week! :D

Thank you! I'll be happy with recipe #1. Where can I purchase a 3 bar MAP? The guy I bought it from included an extra MAP sensor, so it MIGHT have a different map.

The Phil Long chip (that i have) has a remote connected to it to display and choose one of the 16 programs you can run, your truck may have a custom burned chip that may not be labeled too good, as far as the MAP i honestly cant remember if the part # is stamped on it or not. but i would think that if you have been running that much boost for even alittle while w/o blowin up shit you would be ok. BUT you should prolly find out for sure, hth.Luke

I still got it. I felt bad trying to put mods on the low mileage truck. So I found one in SD with 140K that needed some work. So I got a good project.

Welcome to the club, I guess another Syclone leaves California. Not many hear to start off with either.

With regards to the MAP sensor...

"MAP sensors, stock 2 bar on left #16009886 and 3 bar on right old number is #16040749 new # is #12223861. On the topside where the plug connects, there is a number for identification. 1 bar MAP=039, 460, 876 or 883. 2 bar MAP=012, 539, 609, 701, or 886. 3 bar MAP=749 or 861. The 4 digit number to the right refers to the date of manufacture "1100"= 2001, 100th day of the year."

Hey rhett,
This is Taylor....was at the Pavs on saturday with the LS1 swapped little black truck. Anyways, Nick (AZclubgp) had told me you were buying a syclone. Cool you decided to join the forums. I saw some pics you had up, truck looks awesome :tup:

You planning on bringing it to the Oak Source Meeting commin up soon?? I plan on being down there with my GT.

Hey Taylor! I have to hand it to ya! You got one awesome Sonoma GT! That LS1 you got in there looks factory! Yes, Im going to bring the Syclone to the get together. I just need to find someone that will want to bring my GTO as well.

I noticed that some people on here know the number of their SY and TY. Where is the build number located on the truck?

It's gonna be the last 4 numbers of your vin number on the dash.

Sweet! I just looked at it! I got Syclone #2965! It was one of the last ones wasnt it? Didnt they build something like 2,995 Syclones in 1991?
