... is it possible that the direction of the stock-pump is the other way round ??

searched all sites (including this one ;) ) - help me bring it to the point please !!

what i know so far :

(stock setup) bottom of upperIC goes to bottom lowerIC (pump in between) and top of upperIC goes to top or lowerIC - is that right ?? ... or other way round - found both opinions on the board - and when i look at this i'm really confused :

Re: johnson ICpump flow direction ??

Bottom to bottom doesnt sound right to me, but i could be wrong. have to look at the truck when i get home. Doesnt it make since to pump from the bottom of the lower to the top of the upper so that gravity can assist on the return path to the lower heat exchanger?

On both the Jabsco and Johnson pump the
horizontal flange is a blower !

Re: johnson ICpump flow direction ??

You want to route your hoses so the the inlet flow for the upper is the "top" port and the out flow is the lower port to avoid sucking air in the upper I/C. The horizontal pump port is the outlet and usually has a arrow, unless this has changed on newer pumps?

Re: johnson ICpump flow direction ??

my pump has an arrow, but it shows that the horzontal flange is the suction-side (vertical flange shows arrow towards outside) ... :dunno:

anyway, did my homework and made this (stock-setup) :
