jhacking first real pass

Well I made it to the track yesterday with the truck after countless small problems.

The weather here for the past week has been terrible loads of rain, and humidity. yesterday for us was quite hot in the high 80's

First pass left on 12lbs it left good then @ the 60 it blew all four off after the AMS brought the 17lbs in to strong.

Second run turned launch boost down to 10lbs and didn't change the rate on the target boost so again it blew the tires off, but still went 6.60 @ 115mph with a 1.75 60

So I got on the phone with my boost controller guy, and sorted out a boost tune up for the truck so we could get it down the track. mean while the truck is super rich in the 10.50's AFR

Third Pass left on the 10lb launch, truck didnt spin after the new tune in the AMS:tup:then ramped it in to the target of 17psi. It had a 1.6 60 which is shit for now but that will get better with some time. ET was 6.20 @ 117mph.

Last pass tryed to up the boost to 22psi just after the 60, and it got pretty sidways, I never lifted and went 6.10 @ 119.50 with a 1.55 60 which was a bit better. the fuel was still rich. The air qualitiy just keep getting worse with tons of water grains

I know i have alot of work to do but its nice to have it running with no problems now i just need some decent track conditions to work with while I'm trying to get it setup.

I will say this it was alot easyier when the truck had the old motor in it with the smaller turbo, and milder motor. these beast are hard to work with, but its fun.

I hope to maybe get back at it again this weekend if the weather holds off:tdown:

Re: jhacking first real pass

That should be a mid 9 second pass I would think. In the Camaro I used to race, my 1/8th mile times were 5.80s, with 1/4 times of 9.0s. 60' was in the high 1.20s, and these turbo trucks pull a lot more on the top end than that Camaro did. MPH at the 1/4 for me was 147-149, and Robert's truck with these same times is about 155 I think.

Very nice, Jamie. You have came a long way in a hurry even if it doesn't feel like it. A 6.10 is faster than low 10's... my vote is with JJ on mid 9's considering it has to be making mad power after the boost controller ramps up to full boost and it hooks. For reference, I run low 10's with 6.60-ish 1/8 mile times with 1.5x 60' times.

1/8th mile to 1/4 on a syty is about equal if you multiply 1.58 on a stockish truck, 1.56-1.57 on a highly modded truck.

So he is for sure mid 9's, with a better 60 ft, .2 sec there = .4 at end, could be a low 9 as it sits.

Glad to see you making progress forward. Its amazing what it takes to work out all the bugs on these trucks after extensive mods like you have done.

I hear rumor Robert might come over next year to US, wonder if we can setup a good match race.

Good work :D
Good to see another truck starting to get real fast and furiose, Now U realise the efford Robert have gone thrue to get the power down to the ground.

The wing is one aspect "blink, blink"

These AWD truck aint comparably with the RWD race cars at all, U can build the same power as anny other race car, but the chassie tune is a whole new game... :)

Good luck and ceep us updated, and I hope and pray (and Im not religius) that JSM have right about the rumors.. :D
