See they are telling me that they would use my engine with the 4 bolt mains, my crank and cam. they would use the heads I found that rockford racecraft recommended I get if I could find them and I did. They would do a 3 angle valve job w/ new valves and spings and if it called for forged cast or aluminum pistons they would use that. New bearings and seals and all. So I know you don't want a reman from them but if they are using your engine wouldn't that be ok then?

Let's hope it does. That's what the 3 year 75k mile warrenty is for. I asked and asked them and they assure me it's to specs. New fuel pump and regulator on it's way. New trans, 2800 stall, borla catback, rear sway bar, new prop shaft with 2 universal joints, new street strip chip, starter, fuel filter, battery, drilled and slotted rotors, new turbo to intercooler pipe and cooler to TB. New IC pump and reroute IC hoses. Soon I hope: 3" down and high flow cat, battery relocate and cold air kit, new 18" corvette tires and rims. i'll keep my fingers crossed or else I'll be seeing my mechanic alot.Thanks for the replys.

Jasper has the capacity to build a decent long block.
1. It will cost you a whole lot more than the syty vendors
2. I would have 2nd thoughts about a vendor who doesn't build for forced induction applications very often.
3. Although you may have a warranty, they will not likely cover the engine since it is a "race oriented" custom build. They won't tell you know, but later after the purchase.
Even GM says the Sy/ty replacement engines and trannies are to spec, but we know different.
Good luck which ever way you decide.

No offense but just the fact that they would even offer such a warranty on a syty motor indicates to me that they have no clue what they are getting themselves into....Also, they didn't recommend that you buy h-beam rods at the very least....Four bolt mains and stock rods? Doesn't add up....sounds like you got a hold of a good salesman....Who would want to be constantly r&r'ing motors for 3yrs and 75k miles? I would search around here and do some reading before you go that route....

No offense taken what I ment to say is they are using my mains and rods so for all intense and purposes they are just rebuilding my engine not an engine swap. I know 3 or 4 years ago these guys were having problems but theyassured me they know whats going on. And if they don't they can give me my money towards a different engine. I'm getting all this done for $4600. Plus the beefy prop shaft, new fan shroud, new starter, rerun ic hoses, power wash engine bay, new ic pump, fuel filter hoses, belts, new oil lines, and street/strip chip. i'll let you guys know thanks for the input.

You should really consider getting your motor work done by one of the builders Jimmy listed above. You would almost certainly save yourself a lot of money and headaches in the long run.

Yeah but youre talking twice the price or more for a stock rebuild and that's not even installed and what kind of warrenty are we talking about if one of those engines goes bad and then i have to pay for the reinstall. if they are using my parts my engine and my mechanic, i think it's worth a try at least. Plus the turn around and shipping. seems like a lot of money and time that way too.

I know you have the trans but I got mine done somewhere else so quit pawning it off on people and sell it to some sucker on ebay. Oh and I have read the threads and have only seen the compaint about the trans'. I've been tuning mine for 6 years and if it wasn't for a blown rear seal and head gasket it still be kicking corvette ass.*

where did I pawn it off on anyone??, you have 9 posts and this is the first ive mentioned it. I only mentioned it here because if youre stupid enough to buy a jasper engine, perhaps you want the matching shitty trans to go with it :roll: and sorry, I will not just put it on eBay and wish someone luck with it, Im not a conartist like some people out there, but if thats how you choose to think and do business with people, Ill be sure to monitor any of your future posts in the classifieds section.
