I've got a problem help me W/ pics

Ok so In other post I wrote that I broke a u-joint and to look for other problems ...........
well i found them I smashed the shift cable bracket into my trans pan whitch now has a nice hole where the tranny fluid leaks out from Question time where can I get a new tran pan, shifter bracket, AND I NEED A DRIVE SHAFT LOOP I LEARNED MY LESSON ! :tdown:

you don't need a drive shaft loop you need a gilbert shaft..

I agree get a gilbert and never worry again... also put a want add in the forsale section of this forum for a tranny pan, range selector bracket etc

Since you're putting in a new trans pan, get a better one. Derale makes one with built in cooling tubes, and there are other high capacity aluminum ones. Get something with a drain plug in it. Epoxy a good magnet to the bottom as well.

Yep. Gilbert. Just bend the little bracket back into shape and get you a new pan. Don't loose that little clip!! Make sure the cable moves freely. If it doesn't, it may have squished the sleeve inside toward the tip.

I have a guy to buy my old trans from me. If he does not want the pan and bracket, you can have them for 20$ plus shipping. Its a stock pan with a magnetic drain plug installed. I will know this weekend if he does not want them. PM me if interested. Oh..and just get a gilbert.

What kind of magnet? Any magnet? I've got magnets from hard drives that are really strong. What kind of epoxy works best?

You can just stick them to the pan if its a stock style steel pan. If it's aluminum, use JB weld (slow set stuff). NOT JB Quick.

DERALE....is that a person or a company? I am looking to get a high cap one with a drain plug ... and was going to go the tranny cooler route, but this pan with a built in tranny cooler ( cooling tubes ) sounds kick ass!!! ---

Derale. Seach Jeggs or Summit.
They make coolers, pans, fans, etc.
The pan is ok. Comes with a drain plug and air blows through the tubes that run front to rear.

The cooling tubes are NOT a replacement for a good front mounted tranny cooler, however. So don't think you're going to get away without one. The tubes just help to cool the trans a bit more (they need all the help they can get).
