Is This Normal

Thought I had my intercooler issues straightened out but now i'm not sure. Drove to a car cruise yesterday in 90-95 degree heat with the a/c on at about 35-45 mph and only a couple of stop lights. I never got into boost at all. When I popped my hood and felt my upper i/c, I could barely touch it.

I thought I had all the air bled out and it was ok but not sure now.I know for a fact that there is no kinks in the hoses and the pump is running. It is a johnson pump. I still have the factory metal lines.

I can see some movement in the i/c, but I would think that it would be moving a lot faster. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Maybe I need a pump that pushes more gpm or that was normal for such a hot day.

there you have it. those metal lines negate any cooling advantage that the bigger pump provides. all the radiant heat from the engine block(>180*) brings those metal lines temp up close to engine temp.

Very good point. I'd suggest doing a conversion from the hard lines (that pass *very* close to the hot intake) and see how things change for you.
