Is it worth $7800

Typhoon #240
Questions about the new truck I am looking at. I went to see this typhoon yesterday in Desplaines Illinois. I ran the carfax and the last emission test was in 2001. The odometer said it had 45,000. I asked the guy about it and he said the odometer was replaced. It had like 45000 miles on it. The truck also had a damaged front passenger cladding and a damaged rear one with. It comes with 2 brand new rims (one is faded and the other is bent on the truck. The truck drove fine. He told me it was sitting for a while. The passenger side door panel was glued on, the steering wheel had a little play, the power moonroof switch was missing, and it could use a good interior cleaning. My question to you professionals is what do you think its worth.?? I also wanted to add that there was no rust on it, just a little bubbling under the doors and tailgate.

ok bubbling = rust meaning it needs door and a tailgate, the blower motor is a 20.00 part Offer 7k and buy it

Re: Is it worth $7800

it has a moonroof, the power switch that is mounted in the headliner is pushed in and it does not operate.

moonroof is not a stock piece on a typhoon.
There were several dealerships who installed them back in the day. I know Smaug's truck has one, and I'm 90% sure that Captain Morgan has a slightly different sized one from a different original dealership.

Stock install from dealer is not stock install from factory :2cents: I've met some of the boneheads that work in dealerships, and I wouldn't want them taking a sawzall to my roof. Like stated before, offer $7,000

Well i Paid $5k for mine but it did have alot more miles but mine sounds a hell of alot cleaner the that, I have 1 Quarter size bubble spot on the Passenger door. However the miles on it dont sound to bad at all... I dont know the guy but id offer $6500 and see what happens, The worst he's going to say is no and work from there....

Re: Is it worth $7800

I sold a real real clean, STRONG running, rust free stock truck with 135k for $6,000 last month. It was incredible how long it took to sell even at that price, so lowball the snot out of the guy; the market on these suck right now.

Hey guys, Thanks for all the input!! I did buy it for 7k its in pretty decent shape. Everthing works. There is a little rust under the roof rack. Its real clean. The doors are clean there is no rust through but a littel bubbling under the doors and tailgate. Its great though. The boost guage goes all the way up to 15 when i nail it. Its not as fast as my GN was, but its stock. I will be confiding in you guys in the next couple of months to help me upgrade and get her into the 12,s or 13,s

Get an aftermarket boost gauge; the stock gauge is notoriously innacurate (as well as most of the other instrumentation!). Getting into the 12's will be very achieveable. You can check out some of the "recipe" information below. These aren't exact by any means, but just a nice guide to refer to.
