Ok so I decided I'd start looking at the random wire and connections under the hood of my truck... Being that I'm the 3-5th owner of the vehicle... who knows whats been done.

Well I wanted to know why my IC pump would never turn on... followed it's red positive wire to this:

A purple wire in the main harness right above the brake booster..

Any ideas what the wire is for/conencted to?

The pump works when I jumper it from the battery.

Don't know about the wire, but have is your pump relay hotwired? Is the relay good? Is the fuse behind the alternator good?

Are you getting power to the IC pump? I just installed a Johnson pump (my pump was not coming on also...it was bad) and to send power to the pump without the truck running you put a paperclip in the top row, far right 2 terminals of your computer plug under the dash below the steering wheel. With the key on this will send power to the pump motor, then with a tester you can check if you even have power. With a factory chip, your pump does not come on for awhile...until motor get hotter.
