intake to hood clearance question

I am getting a sheet metal intake made for my sy. Right now we are talking about a 4bbl style Wilson sheet metal fitted to 23* brodix heads. I'll be looking to put a 4bbl style EFI elbow and Ford 90mm throttle body on it. I would like to keep the stock hood, (without the insulation), perfer not to go cowl.
Basically I need some help with intake and trottle body height to hood clearance. I have my motor out of the truck and I didn't plan ahead and measure the clearance of the stock intake top to the hood. I gave Wilson the stock lower and upper intake to get measurements from, I would like to know if I can go any taller with the new intake without hitting the hood.
So, can any one help me out with some clay or playdough and see how much room is between the top of the stock intake and the hood?
TIA

Re: intake to hood clearance question

I don't have the dimensions your asking for, but I have done 3 trucks now with similar things.

#1 truck was a stock 4.3, edelbrock carb intake, 90deg sheetmetal elbow. He did have cowl hood but I am 99% sure it would have fit in stock also.

#2 edelbrock intake, this time we used a 3" aluminum 90 bend. Taller than the other way but it fits no problem. Cowl hood here but the bracing underneath is stock hood bracing so no real difference.

#2 is my truck, with the v8 the engine may be up some, Holley efi carb intake with a 90 elbow and wilson TB. Mine hit the bracing on hood so I had to clearance that, but stock hood otherwise. If I did it again I might do a 95 or 100 deg elbow. Elbow clears fine is the TB that hit the bracing.

Hope that helps some.

Yes it does help. I'll probably use a 100* elbow, when I do it.
