Intake manifold for Syclone/Typhoon

Re: Intake manifold for Syclone/Typhoon

I would like to see an air distribution plate as well.

If you want to sell tons of parts you'd have to marked to the regular S10 crowd. You'll never make your money back on $100k tooling parts selling to SyTy owners. Build a system that will let S10 owners turbocharge their trucks and you might have something.

I was thinking about all 4.3L when designing the intake manifold. I was not going to invest 100k and only market to that small of a group! I wanted to develop a proper intake manifold, optimizing packages that are already available, cams, and heads.
Apparently I need a lot of advice, didn't know that I have my head that far up my ass!
I just wanted to help the community, by offering maximized components, and something that is not readily available!
I'm not trying to make a ton of money, I have a great career! I do this as a hobby now, not full time! If there is a demand for a part, I don't mind designing and developing something!
I will leave it at that!

You have a great idea and if you look at making it for all the 4.3 crowd, then you would most likely recover the cost of making it. As been stated already, If you were to make a lower intake that bolt up to the 1996 and newer 4.3 vortec heads that will,

1. enable the current Syclone/Typhoon upper half to be a bolt on affair, or

2. enable the rest of the 4.3 crowd to turbocharge the motor that they have by making a upper that will face the front for other possibilities.

Then I think that you could recover your cost to make it. However it is a gamble that only you can decide on if you want to make it. I would be interested if it comes to life.

I want! that is a nice setup, but it would be hard to replicate hundreds, or even a thousand times!
Do you know the inlet runner area in square inches!

That particular intake is on my 302 ci bowtie at the moment,it matches both vortec and brodix heads

I miss that intake! But selling it helped me keep the bowite short block!

Got pictures of it installed?

Aaron the motor is still on the stand, dont know if I'll get around to this year or not,as I have too many projects going on.I did make up new and bigger fuel rails and added some more vacuum ports. It's on a bowtie with a 4.130 bore with a 3.75 Bryant crank,Olivers and Brodixs.I did change from a 90mm tb to a 75mm on the advise on John Gerber, that should make it more driveable. Not really sure on what turbo yet.
