Insurance Costs

Anyone want to trade specs on insurance costs??

My Sy has full State Farm coverage and is costing me $400 every six... I'm an older gray-haired fart with no tickets or accidents (can you say boring!)
I'm in Oklahoma and they rate it as a 19 on the IRG scale, although my home state of Wyoming rates it a 14

Look into a collector car insurance. It'll be cheap. And you can do an agreeded appon value of the truck, which will be nice if you happen to total it or it gets stolen.

WOW i live in OK too and i am 22 years old single, 1 operating a vehicle in a manor not proper :D (not in the sy) 2 seat belts and one speeding. i just got my state farm today acually i have 3 vehicles on it and it only cost me 246.00 every six months w/ a 500 deductible and no uninsured motorist coverage any other questiongs i would be happy to awnser

but i do have collecter car insurance on my 77 monte thru state farm for 25k and it only cost me like 25 bucks every six months the only limit is 10k miles a year and i am sure a few other limits but i think it has to be either 20 or 25 years old.

i have regular insurance on my ty as it only has comp right now. like blk00z28 said collector insurance is cheap, i have it on my 1959 chevy with a replacement value of $35,000 and its like $356.00 a YEAR for full covarage. but it must stay full covarage all year, no just comp insurance for winter months. its worth looking into.

State Farm as well.

Multicar discount, 500 deductable, Sy is a weekend/show/trailer vehicle with less than 7k per year. Always garaged. Provided documentation that it is a limited edition vehicle, along with pictures to my agent.

When the truck is drivable, its $49.

When the truck is not drivable is it is right now, I have the my coverage reduced due to it being in "storage" and not being driven, so its $19. Still covers all accidents, just cant be behind the wheel if an accident occurs (i.e, grage caves in, storm damage, hit and run, etc)

Last time I checked, Id get around $18-20k if my truck was totally destroyed

Re: Insurance Costs

American Modern Insurance Co. Agreed value. $325.00 / year for this particular old fart. There are some stipulations with agreed value/collector so check that before you just switch.

It pays to shop around.

I just switched to Liberty Mutual from Unitrin Direct (used to be Kemper). I've got more coverage for less money now. And after switching my house over to Liberty Mutual as well, I saved a total of $800/year.
The Ty cost me ~$400/yr. 7k/year, pleasure vehicle.

USAA (solely for active duty / retired military personnel and immediate family members). Been with them for 17 years. The Syclone, Saleen S281SC, Chrysler T/C Limited, VW R32 and Chevy Metro LSI run me $712 every 6 months with a flawless record. That's for Comp and Liability, $100,000/300,000/100,000 with a $500 deductable. I like it when GEICO mails me saying they can beat my current insurance rate by at least 15%.....when I call them, it's a whole different story :).

Erie Insurance

Sy - Full tort, every option. Storage for 3 month discount, limted use discount ---- $500 per year - $500 deduct.
02 Trans Am(Sold) - Full tort, every option. 3 month storage, limted use ----- $3200 per year - $500 deduct.

both have premium package (bodily injury $100M, property damage $100M, accidental death $5M) whatever that means.

I am 21 years old. I have one accident, but it was "forgiven"

Re: Insurance Costs

One important think to consider is how well the insurance company performs when the time comes that you need to file a claim. You can pay a low premium now only to find out that your insurance sucks when you file a claim. Unless you have agreed value coverage, you are at the mercy of the insurance company when it comes to repairs or the value of your SyTy. It would be wise to research the insurance to find out what type of complaints the company has from its own policy holders.
