installing trans w/ T-case?

Is there a way that the transmission can be installed at the same time with the transfer case? I have tried, but i cant figure out how to balance the off-set weight of the t-case. Anyone have any luck? or should i just install them seperate?

I'd do it seperate. Its not all that hard getting the T-case in by itself.

the 80e its hard to do them seperate. If its a 700r4 It should be no problem. You can reach all the bolts easy.

Or 2 guys, a really good transmission jack (a heavy duty one that tilts in 2 axis's), and some ratchet straps to keep the trans & tcase on the jack. And you'll need something to keep the torque convertor in place (since its heavy, and you filled it with fluid (right?)) since often you need to put the tcase end up first.

As mentioned before, the 80E really only goes in with the tcase. There just isn't enough room otherwise. 700R4 can go either way.

do it seperate. there is no reason to do them together. you only create more problems and increase your risk of droping it and breaking something.

Installed the 80e with t-case attached by myself on a truck that was 20 inches off the ground. I would never do that again by the way.
