installing the front differntial..

ok i took my old one out to swap in the AWD front diff from the syclone...well mine was a bitch to take out...then when it finaly came out the top mount was broken...

can neone give me a few hint how to put it all back in...

I had the best luck with installing the chunk by itself and then bolting the pass side axel to it once it's in there...

this is with the motor in.

if the motor is out then I do it as a single unit.

well it was a bitch at first for me also when i took my diff out.(w/o separating the tube)
i removed the steering linkage(tie rods and center bar). i positioned the pitman arm all the way towards the drivers side.
i also put the jackstands under the a-arms so that they didnt droop down. i needed the a-arms to sit straight to get the clearance needed to get the diff flanges in between.
also, i put tape on my oil pan to prevent scratches.
when removing you have to lower the passenger side down first, then you have to rotate the diff a little while lowering it. just remember the way you took it out and install the same way in reverse.

EEEK i do dnot remember how i took it out....

i am going to take the controle arms off and just take the hole front end apart... also do i realy need to take the steering linkage out?

dont take the a-arms out just to put the diff in. not needed.
i removed the steering linkage cause the top mount on the diff kept getting hung up on the steering linkage.

damn a lil too late on reading the post....

took the whole from suspension apart.... need to neways to install my friends old suspension on his ty....so i guess it is not a total lost...

i am gonna start to put it in tomorrow.... hope it all goes smooth....

ne more words of wisdome?
