installing New wilwood rear disc brakes added [Pics] finished!!!

Ive been working for sometime installing rear drum and disc kit so far its been some work.

The Silver braided cable is the New ABS Cable
The stock ABS unit fit just fine just had to make a hole for the cable this is just a Fit test im planning of getting the rear diff powdercoated next week

This project is not a just bolt on and go
The ABS cable had to be mounted and the Ebrake cable mount had to be modified to to fit the stock Ebrake cable. not hard but luckly the Stock ABS sensor fit in Perfectly..

Here is pics of ABS unit

Here is more pics of clearance of ABS

Which kit is that? Can we get a pic of what will be seen through the rim?

The kit is #140-7141 i will have to get a rim down from my attic i have Camaro SS rims on my truck right now. I havent finished yet im still working on it i might finish next weekend im waiting on Powercoating my Rear End on friday right now im just fitting and adapting the kit is actually a direct fit just dealing with ABS Sensors and Ebrake connectioin EASY Stuff.

http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Pages/12/index.asp

The difference is the offset on the kits I did alot of Reasearch on which offset our trucks has and we have a 2.81 offset the axle flange on our trucks is 2.84 the kit is 2.725 there is this SMALL lip about a 16th of an inch that i just ground off. it

Mounting ABS Sensor

I could have used the Original ABS Sensor wire and just put a Simple gromet but my last ABS sensor wire was cut somehow which caused me alot of erratic brake operation so i desided to go Extreme on my sensor wire.

Re: installing New wilwood rear disc brakes added [Pics] finished!!!

lots and lots of pics please!

parts list!

Is your SS cable for the ABS certified for braking pressures? I read somewhere you shouldn't mix normal SS hose with brake lines...

Looks awesome. How long to do this project? Any snags? Advice?

Re: installing New wilwood rear disc brakes added [Pics] finished!!!

The ABS Cable is far More than Certified believe me its the cable they used in Nuclear Reactors, the Stainless brake lines are DOT i had to have them Custom made locally at a Custom hose shop.. the kit i bought was the Wilwood 140-4171 but i think the 140-7578 would have been better because i had to do a Little grinding where the Hole for the axle bearing but its a VERY easy to fix. too 5 min to grind. the Ebrake cable was a little more work i could have bought a New one that just bolted on but due to money i just modified the one had i had to shorten the cable by 2 inched one inch on the spring and 2 on the cable then Reweld the cable swedge not hard.

But taking the Wilwood mounts apart to install the ABS sensor cable was Hard they Build this thing Bullet proof and the bolts are Threat locked from the factory so i had to use a little heat to brake them free.

If you people want pics just Email me at rosszahara@hotmail.com its easer than posting

if anybody is going to do the conversion i think i have enought Stainless cable for the ABS sensor left for another rear end.
Thanks !!!
