Re: Installing boost guage

forgot the guys name on here, but he sells the fitting to get vac for the boost gauge.
the best place to get vac is from the brake booster line. he sell's fitting that goes on the intake and has a nipple coming off for the vac line. hyrude or something like that was his name on here. best place to go on the firewall would be on the pass side. you will see a black rubber cover with the antenna wire. you could poke a hole in there and run the vac line

Cant i just run a T fitting on a vac line?

The general recomendation is nope. Those are dedicated lines and need to only go where they go. However I've never seen it where someone used one of those lines and had a problem. I'm sure someone will jump on this post and correct me.

AFA getting through the firewall there is a spot just above where the throttle cable comes through you can use. Look on the inside for a pre-punched hole in the matting that needs to be removed. I think I then drilled a hole and installed a grommet.

Re: Installing boost guage

you can run it on a vac line, but there are some vac lines with a one way valve on there. using one of those. will either A. not give you a reading or B. get a wrong reading .
using a vac line with out a one way in it can also give you a wrong reading.
seeing that where the hose comes off the booster is the main one. making it your best bet and making sure you get the right reading.
