i found some better comparison pics of the led vs. the regular bulb with the slip over cover..... here's a thread on the subject.....and yet another thread and a bulb supplier.....just scroll down to the 194's....

Nice find Servando. The second thread you provided has a really nice shot of some Phantoms with blue 6 leds. Very nice. I sent the guy selling the A'pexi an email last night asking if it was still available and, if so, I was ready to buy, cause, in comparing the dash gauges and that pic of the A'pexi side by side, they matched so perfectly.
Now I'm a <George Bush voice on> flip-flopper <George Bush voice off> (sorry, bad John Kerry joke).
Mainly concerned with finding additional gauges to match the A'pexi :roll:
I know the Autometers provide a full line of matching gauges, so they become the better choice, even though they don't match as perfectly as the A'pexi.

just make sure you get the led's that fit guys.....i skimmed all the pages of both threads and one guy had to grind plastic (using a nine bulb i think) and another guys led's were touching the internals of a boost gauge causing an inaccuracy in his boost reading....i hope to get around to this mod as well soon....

I have red bulbs in mine. Dont use the slip on covers, buy the bulb color you want. Night and day differance.

I also went with the blue ones from superbrightleds.
For instruments they are OK but the 1157 style for the tail lights or turn signals are not to recommend (at least IMO).
See pictures of my shifter, the gages (VDO black) and the LED's themselves.
BTW I run the 6 LED for the side marker in the rear (red) and 4 LED (amber) behind my clears in front.

Bringing this one back from the dead to ask how you like the the 4 LED bulbs. I'm considering ordering them for all my Autometer gauges as well as the gauge cluster. I don't want to trim anything nor do I want them to be too bright and I was gonna order the first option on this list because I think they'll pop right in but am worried they might be too dim. Are these the same ones you ordered and are they bright enough? Thanks.
