Ignition module or bad starter solenoid?

Truck wont start, I cant find any shorts or places where the purple wire is melted, i zip tied it out of the way. Last time this happened I changed the ignition module and it fixed it. It clicks the first few tries when i hit the key, then it just does nothing. Is it my ignition module again? Or could i have a bad starter solenoid?

wut up, cam! i just replaced my starter with the 454 engine starter. werks great and has a nice "whine" to it when cranking. i got tired of turning the key back and forth to get the truck started. have you tried tapping on the starter while trying to crank it. i had to do that a couple of times to determine it was bad. i even addressed the purple wire and still had the no crank. also try disconnecting the ignition module wire to see if it throws spark. good luck

tried tappin it, battery is good. would my timing being off cause my module to go bad. i still havent timed it and ive gone through 2 or 3 of them now in the past 4 months.

Ignition module has nothing to do with it not cranking.
Starter solenoid, or bad wiring.

Have you tried wiggling the shifter to see if it's the park/neutral safety switch. You can jump around that switch temporarily if you want to make sure it's not causing the problem.

Purple wire is in good condition, so I guess its the solenoid. I can hit the key like 10 times, and out of those it will click once or twice all the rest do nothing.
