Idle question (IAC)

What goes wrong with them? I have a idle that now wanders up and down about 150 rpm. Is this where I need to look for a solution, IAC?

you should look at your IAC counts and see if they wonder around like your idle does. it could be your probelm. :x

I would but my DM is messed up, all I get is errors and then it quits recording then comes back then the whole cycle again.

Are you using an MSD ignition box? If so try temporarily disabling it or get an RF filter.. Also you have tried playing with the ALDL Link Timing right? Is your laptop fast enough to run DM properly? (100MHZ Pentium or better with at least 32MB RAM)

You might want to get ahold of David Syclone892, I think his username on here is Syclone892 or Syclone#892. He had that problem adn it was solved by an RF filter.

Try running without the MSD box once and see if that solves the datamaster.

Otherwise for the link timing you open up the ALDL Serial Data Acquisition window and do one of the menus, Setup or Options, it will have Advanced and like the bottom option under there says Serial Communications... once your in there, I think its the right most slider "Link Timing". Try changing it from 190-210 and find the beginning/end numbers where your laptop still connects to the ECM. Then set it to the MIDDLE of those numbers.

Josh you are right again, I had a msd 6a that came with the truck and it would cause all kinds of problems so I disconnected it and problem solved. I have the msd quick connect harness so it unplugs by the coil and you plug the factory plug back into the coil and its disconnected, you may have your hard wired which would suck cause I have no clue how to disconnect it then. Part no. 8830, I have since removed the 6a and put the digital 6 I had for my prelude on the truck but have not used datamster yet to see if it needs the filter or not. Good luck.
