IC fan instal

Ian,

Got any data on how much the fans drop the IATs? ie: "85 deg ambient temps with IATs at XX deg I turned on the fans and the IATs dropped to XX deg in X amount of time".

Ive been kicking the idea of installing IC fans for a while now but Id really like to see some numbers on it first (Im just funny that way :) ) before I do it so I can kinda compare my results.

TIA

I *definitely* run cooler temps now with the fans.

The only data I have is a comparison from my truck to adam's truck.

measuring at the same place in the IC (entering the upper) he used to consistently be 4-8 degrees lower then me.

with fans on, I'm now consistently lower then him (however I moved the IC temp sender to the hottest point (just before entering the heat exchanger)

Those are based off readouts of a digital temp gauge.

I do feel however, that when they are off they block some flow. The spal's have a large center section that I would see creating a high pressure area between them and the core. I run em all the time with no issues.

I love em, but you definitely need to look into a higher output alternator if yours is stock.

Now i run a hayden aux with the fans on the lower and a jabsco.
Just about as much as you can do with the stock setup.

I could run a diacom file sitting at idle with the fans on/off If you'd like.
or cruising at 5-10 mph.. of course, air temps change around the city quite a bit here

On a warm day, I noticed my MAT's dropped from example, 102 to 94 degrees just cruising around town. I also have my upper IC heat wrapped so this will keep the cooling more consistent, IMO.
