Looks great!

I redid all of my lines with that braided 3/4 heater hose too but shortly after took the plung and went air2air.

You can post up pictures now that you have a photobucket account.. when you click on one of your pics in the gallery to the right of the pic you'll have three lines of code to choose from.. just copy the third line which begins with

Thanks for the  Boosted! It's always fun when a project like this turns out good and wasn't a PITA to do! If anyone wants tips on how to make this project a lot easier to accomplish, just PM me.

Thanks too, Boosted, for the PIC information... will be nice to be able to put a pic in a thread!

I still can't put pics in my posts, so here's the link to my photobucket page...

All you need to do is highlight the third tag down under your picture ( the img one ). Then right click, copy and paste it into the thread where you want it.

If you want to increase cooling you can add 1 or 2 of these in front of the radiator.

It's a heater core form a 79-93 mustang non-AC variety. Runs ~$30.

Re: IC and CAC upgrade pics

Thanks 4C... I read where a few guys had done that. I'm going to try the system like it is for a few weeks, try to borrow someone's infrared thermometer and get some heat readings off of the IC. Maybe the next step will be the additional Mustang core - it looks just the right size and I have a braided line right there in the grille.

Thanks man!

Hey SS,
Yup, they're off the Cobalt as well. I do have the part numbers for those, but will have to wait till tonight to get them for you.. I remember they're numbered part #18 on the illustration we were looking at on the GM computer.... I'll get you the GM part number tonight.

Re: IC and CAC upgrade pics

Got the numbers on those nice Cobalt 3/4" elbows SS... GM part #22707607.... $18 each - ouch! But, they work perfect either on the IC, or on the CAC.

Re: IC and CAC upgrade pics

Hey, no prob SS...
For you guys running two 3/4" rubber hoses you could hook them to the IC like this (these are the factory GM Cobalt IC elbows) and run both hoses directly to the fenderwell

I ran my lines like this, and I'll use just one of the Cobalt elbows on the lower fitting (IC outlet).
This path on the upper IC inlet gives the stainless braided a straight shot into the IC. I've got solid mounts so don't have to worry about engine shake, but for those with factory motor mounts this method looks like it would provide pretty good movement of the hoses without putting much stress on the IC fittings.

This is where I used the second Cobalt elbow...

Re: IC and CAC upgrade pics

just a thought...
I always thought those male to male connectors for heater hose were too restrictive
so i use 3/4 copper plumbing pipe and butt the two hoses together to hide it
probably isnt much difference in flow but ya never know lol

Re: IC and CAC upgrade pics

Hi Vortec,
I had thought about that, as I've done a lot of house plumbing and knew how thin the walls were on the copper. I ran the pump with the Gates plastic unions (which also have a pretty thin wall), and the copper, and the pump seemed to push about as much water either way. If I was going for a LOT of horsepower I'd probably go for it, but then probably add another cooler as well.... always something to tinker with!

Thats a sweet setup. So how did it work? Ever take those temp readings?
